Managing the "Anaconda Idiots"

It is offensive to call people idiots.
If you have ground your way up to an Anaconda in the short time the game has been online, you have earned to do as you please.

So what? Some people are running countries and are still idiots.

If you've ground your way up to an Anaconda, you've earned an Anaconda. They do not sell impunity licenses.

No, that's the OP's point about "Anaconda Idiots". You can sit in an Anaconda spewing chaff and blasting other ships and survive for extended lengths of time. Boost out of the station, SC out and back and repeat. See the thread I linked too 4 posts up.

No great surprise judging by his you tube account name sigh. No point in being moronic if you don't show it.

They may be, but it's still offensive to call them idiots.
I gather OP and my first replier don't have an Anaconda. Neither have I, by the way.

The Anaconda is itself an impunity license. Go get one and give 'm what you think they deserve.

Just curious why do the station guns stop firing on the 'conda for like half the video? Shoot for a bit, then stop. Over and over... But I love when I see threads crying that we need to alter PvP to the point where it becomes game breaking to shoot another ship due to the penalties they suggest. Station guns should be immune to chaff and deal no damage to anyone but its target. Damage buff is optional. Nothing else required.

I still think the stationresponse to this behavior, after entering and exiting SC, is bugged. The station even sends the message that they do not want him there but it still gives docking clearance instead of denying docking, even though the station is red towards him and the security crafts are moving to engage him.

If you should encounter aforementioned 'Anaconda Idiot'. Please spam their CMDR name in your Comms rant to them. This way, when they want to post their tomfoolery video online - they will either need to perform some video editing to remain anonymous or we'll see it is CMDR Cupidstunt.

All of the CMDRS that got a conda either, Glitched, ran Luxuries, or used A->B trading before they fixed supply/demand. None of those situations deserve anything.

Why would anyone need weapons or chaff anthing other than sensors & landing gear in a station.
I use docking computer a lot, and when i do, almost all systems are disabled, i cannot target anyone, or deploy hard points, or chaff.
So surely as it is already built into the DC, just make this happen for everyone, sure and easiest way to stop station griefing.

Edit: not everyone use the DC, just disable weapons ect in stations.

Have they fixed the DC running you into stuff?. No need to disable weps or other systems in station it wouldn't make any sense (why do your systems just shut down when entering a station?) . But beefing up the station guns/ignoring chaff is all that's needed.

Why is so hard the game to disable ship weapons when you enter the station(blue field)? This is the most simple solution like someone said on page 1.

Or make the station weapons one shot kill. this doesnt give time to kill anything inside.

Video of Anaconda killing undocking ships reminds me of players instakilling at respawn points in FPS games.
Enjoy your fun, while you can. Soon it will be changed, so you need to find another weak point in game design.

Set up a check.

If a player fires weapons in a station, instant destroy ship and give a serious on screen warning in a big popup and Set strike=1 (allowance for new players can be this or less if there in game time is low. say 10 hrs in game).
If player does it again, strike =2 and cost is 10 times FULL cost of ship not insurance cost, as well as all other normal fines and bounties.

If player does it a third time strike =3, all assets seized and players save is wiped. Also player is told that that particular account now will have in perpetuity there strikes set to 2. so if they start over, grief like that again, then its strike 3 all over again.

There is now a precedent that can be set up. If another in game mechanic makes griefing possible in some other part of the game that is undesirable, players with a history already know that they will be wiped if they participate. New griefers can be set the up the same way.

Now, if FD wants to put in some sort of mechanic in game where in station fighting will be happening in the future, they can use logic to disable on a per station, per player, or per mission flag. Same with any other mechanic.

If they want to start clean, they have to pay for the game again.
Solved.

And if you think its too harsh, imagine when new parts of the game are opened up. Griefers will grief if they can unless there is a strong deterrent.

A No approach and word will travel quickly. So you can afford and elite ship and want to greif? Go ahead, you get three chances, then you are screwed.

Whoa there, your name should be CMDR sweeping statements. The games been out 2 months, even after the changes to supply/demand I can easily make 4-5m per hour trading in an Anaconda, do the maths as your statement is not only untrue, it also does a disservice to the many of us who didn't exploit/glitch/cheat our way to riches. -1 if I could.

DC is much better now, i haven't had a problem for ages, but you still have to watch and be ready to take over for safety reasons.
Trouble is beefing up station guns would kill the offender, but he could still cause damage first, and would use cheap ships. I am suggesting something already built in to the DC, so can't be hard to implement for all stations.

So, tons of codding and wasting developers time for something they can fix by disabling weapons in stations. Why you need weapons when you enter the station anyway? The answer is, you dont need weapons inside.

"Stupid is what stupid does"

If you do idiot things, you volunteered to be called an idiot.
That's just like, your opinion man.
What seems stupid to you, may seem sensible or entertaining to others. Don't let a game disturb you.

You don't need them yet, but maybe there is a scenario in the future where it would be needed. Hence my idea of being able to disable on a per station, mission, or player condition in case there will be one day a need/reason to allow for it.

Also, this provides a framework for future issues.

I'm fine with this but if they want to do something similar after 1 year let say, they'll code it then not now because to put all this stuff for something that is easy to fix is not very smart way of doing things. :)
