Capital Ships Invincible?

I was wondering if cap ships are supposed to be invincible or if it's a bug. I was at a high intensity conflict zone with a federal Farragut class battlecruiser but even though its hull was at 0% for several minutes, it remained fully functional:

Looks like that says 60% on the main screen to me, and just 0 on the side panel. Leads me to think the side panel is glitched

Bo, thats an anaconda targetted. The Farragut hull is 0%. OP: a bug, maybe? Does it explode or jump out?

EDIT: ninja'ed

Has anyone ever seen a cap ship explode? If so it must be a bug then.
Here's another shot where I have it targeted:

capital ships cannot be destroyed, all you have to do is take their heat relays down and they will jump away, but you cannot destroy them.

Well, that's a bit disappointing. They might as well be impervious to regular weapons so that their hull stays at 100% if that's the case. Not that I would want to be able to destroy them with small ships but hopefully in the future there will be battles with more than 1 battleships and maybe with some anti-cap ship torpedoes as well, so that we can eventually see them blow up.

Our ships and firepower are tiny compared to a Capital ship, it's like a floating city. We should be able to severely cripple a Cap ship, that's what happens at Zero %, it will jump out.

Personally I think only other Capital ships should be able to inflict enough damage to completely destroy it.

No, they don't jump out at 0% hull, they may fire less etc but you have to destroy all of the heat relays to make them jump away, meaning, as the OP pointed out, they just sit there at 0% hull and don't blow up.

It's pretty stupid though: Shoot the MacGuffinium relay systems out, cap ship jumps out to the realm of plot-space, and here's 50 000 Credits! That's a good commander! Two minutes later, the capital ship returns unaffected.

Hopefully, the whole system of wars and conflict zones get reworked, because I don't really think they make sense at all right now.
