Would it be possible that we could have some snakeskin painjobs for our ships? On a 1-1 basis of course (asp -> asp etc.). And as Mephane suggests below, possible paint jobs for any other critter-based ships - Orca, Dolphin, Vulture, Eagle etc.

There are some impressive looking snakes out there - the underside of the ship would be the snake's belly (often different to their main markings) and the top/sides would be the main colour/pattern.

Mobius, is this beyond your paintshop/gimp/[editor of choice] powers? Anyone else out there want a shot?

Although most snakes might be extinct by 3300, we'd still have access to images from the 20th century ;)

What do people think? And what specific species of snakes or other animals would you like represented for Anaconda, Asp, Cobra, Eagle etc.?

To each their own I suppose but I wouldn't be interested. I'm also not fond of the camo paint jobs though.

I'd like a painjob the same colour as my friend Mandelson. 20140829_115217-1.jpg

I'm no snakologist - what type of snake is that, is it one of the main FD ones? Then again they were all chosen for their cool/bad mule reputations, so maybe yours is 'tame' by comparisson. You could petition FD for a new type of ship ;)

My cousins used to have garter snakes, I remember handling them for ages, they'd twist and squeeze and after I put them back, felt like they were still in my hands for about half an hour! Was a bit freaky. Lovely critters, though, snakes, don't know why they get the reputation they do.

I hope your snake gets on OK with those back-drops - I'm the kind of person that walks into them, but my folks took the back-drop down after I broke my nose in my holding pen. Should have tried Spacesavers...

It's a Corn Snake (Sometimes called a Red Rat Snake). Very tame and not venomous, it's a constrictor. Doubt FD will name a ship a Corn Snake, it's very boring...

I dunno... I can hear the story now... queue a film noir soundtrack:

"I was flying through the Lave system minding my own business. My feet were up on the astrogation console and I was sipping on a tumbler of Lavian Brandy... on the rocks. Suddenly the meanest Corn Snake dropped out of nowhere right on my six. I felt the whole ship shutter as he locked onto me with his interdiction tether. I dropped my brandy and it spun off weightlessly as I grabbed the throttle and slowed myself down. I smiled. "Not this time Corny," I said as I readied to drop out of supercruise and deploy me twin beam lasers. "You're all mine..."

Yeah... I took a look at all the different mean snakes out there, there are some definite candidates for mean snake-ship combos, HOWEVER, they are all unimaginatively named - best bet would go for local language names but then that would mean nothing to us and get lost in translation.

HANG ON! Why haven't we got any lizards yet? After having been to Thailand I'd expect Geckos to be able to attach themselves to the exterior of a station and skuttle through the post box slot...

Sorry to hijack the thread but don't know where else to ask. Has anyone actually bought a skin recently? I bought one yesterday and it is still marked as "processing", since this is a digital good I was expecting for it to be available a few minutes after purchase.

So I just wanted to know what was the experience from someone else that purchased them before and if I should be waiting or opening a support request.

They normally appear in an instant - for me, anyway.

If the payment is OK'd via the store (you say it's processing - in store or in game?), should work. Possible overdraft/payment issue? Have the funds been taken out?

It says "processing" in the store, from my understanding of the store FAQ that means they got the OK from the CC issuer. If you're saying it should be instant I'll get a support request rolling then. Thanks.
