Anaconda exploration setup help

Planning to go exploring in my Anaconda but not sure as to how I should set it up exactly, what are any of you using for yours?

How much cash do you have to spend? This is a template of what I would use.

Mainly D rated equipment, a good fuel scoop and AFM. You wouldn't really need weapons far out from civilization, but it doesn't hurt to carry some. I've done exploring in other big ships (Type-9 and Clipper) had to kit them out to max before I would consider taking them far out. The Anaconda even with pretty stock equipment is an amazing ship to take exploring. I'm having a blast in this giant supertanker.

Sort it out

I'd park that tanker and take something smaller. The wear & tear costs on a large ship eat into the profits of a nice long exploration trip too much for my liking. I've even left my Asp behind this time and I'm 4000Ly out in a little Hauler at the moment.

I'm not worried, I have 224 mil right now aside from what I've put in to the ship. I really love the way it takes screenshots too, that's the best part of the whole ship haha.

Went ahead and just bought the A7 scoop, figured faster would be nicer.

Better, but I'd also lose some of those heatsink launchers too. You shouldn't be needing them unless you're flying drunk. Which happens.

They do come in valuable if you run into situations like Erimus' - drop in too close to a binary pair and you're faced with immediate drop out and overheating damage. Pop 2 or 3 heatsinks, and frameshift away :)

If you select the destination system in the galaxy map and zoom in as close as you can you can see the close binaries and dangerous systems. It stops that particular danger which has caused me some grief in the past.

Very true, although that depends on how closely you're going to monitor your route. Personally I'm much slacker than that... probably explains why I'm on 97% hull right now! :D

I've started to get a bit more strict. I used to just plot a course that-a-way and jump straight into everything and scan. Now I fly out for a couple of thousand light years and then start being a bit more thoughtful about where I go. I've never yet discovered an earth-like planet and its doing my head in. I'm picking mainly F, G & K stars and avoiding binary and trinary systems that are unlikely to have one. I find tons of metal rich planets and some water worlds, but still no new colony for me. :-( I'm not coming back until I find one!

I wasjust wondering how I should go about planning routes and scanning.

IDK, I find a lot of multi-star systems with multiple terraformable planets just meandering my way around on economy routes towards F, G, K.
