Anaconda exploration setup help

B7 fuel scoop + A4 shield

D components to max the jump range

Conda is the best explorer in the game in my opinion.

I would agree with that!

OP- you can find my current set up here - http://naamawing.org/current-ships/ but basically D everything and A3 power plant and D5 thrusters.
And also a shot of 'Texas' (my 'Conda) at Sag A* here (at the bottom) - http://naamawing.org/we-meet-cmdr-lonely-flyer-at-sagittarius-a/

The Anaconda makes a great explorer and also allows you to take unobstructed pics the same way as a Sidewinder. :)

Congratulations on making it to the core in 'Texas'

First Conda to reach it I wonder ??

Having taken an Asp out on a 25k ish Ly round trip already, I'm now heading corewards with a Clipper. Great for screenshots like the Conda and Sidewinder, slightly longer range than the Sidey but significantly shorter than the Asp or Conda.

You should never fly without at least minimal shields, especially a ship as expensive as an Anaconda.
I've been to the core and back twice in mine without shields or problems. In fact, a shield generator makes your ship run hotter while fuel scooping so if anything I would say shields are a hindrance rather than a necessity while exploring deep space.

Planning to go exploring in my Anaconda but not sure as to how I should set it up exactly, what are any of you using for yours?

I'm using this

http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=306,,2-3IA09Y8S1kD88I,544mpZ7Q42jw2UI

39.26LY (41.02LY)

Costs 164M with 8.2M insurance

Here is my power management setup

3,400 LY away from Sol so far and everything is working as intended. I'll probably never use it again for combat with integrity loss but it'll stay a fine exploration/trading ship anyway afterwards

Cheers !

Better, but I'd also lose some of those heatsink launchers too. You shouldn't be needing them unless you're flying drunk. Which happens.

I'm currently exploring drunk, and would not be able to remember which button was mapped to heat sinks (even if I did have them).
Hull currently at 26% after turning off the sheilds and going for a wizz.... now doesn't sound as clever as it did at the time....

I'm glad I'm in a cobra!!

IDK what setup you're using, but the only time I have heat problems while scooping is if I charge FSD at the same time.

The shields I run only weigh 2T, dropping my max jump by 0.15ly.

I'm not saying I have problems fuel scooping, I'm simply saying that without a shield generator the Anaconda does not get as hot while fuel scooping as it does with one fitted.

Doesn't get anywhere close to hot even with one. I don't break 90% unless I charge FSD at the same time. The extra heat from a shield generator is a non-issue.
