Planning to go exploring in my Anaconda but not sure as to how I should set it up exactly, what are any of you using for yours?
Thanks, yeah I think I'm going to just ditch any weaponry and go for more jump range.
Really? To be clear, the post wanted a combat explorer conda, So I gave it to that poster.
B7 fuel scoop + A4 shield
D components to max the jump range
Conda is the best explorer in the game in my opinion.
I would agree with that!
OP- you can find my current set up here - http://naamawing.org/current-ships/ but basically D everything and A3 power plant and D5 thrusters.
And also a shot of 'Texas' (my 'Conda) at Sag A* here (at the bottom) - http://naamawing.org/we-meet-cmdr-lonely-flyer-at-sagittarius-a/
The Anaconda makes a great explorer and also allows you to take unobstructed pics the same way as a Sidewinder.![]()
Asp is significantly cheaper to purchase, outfit, and operate. It has a lower max jump range than Anaconda. The anaconda is really a good idea for exploring? Thinking about buying an asp specialy for exploring. what is better?
Better, but I'd also lose some of those heatsink launchers too. You shouldn't be needing them unless you're flying drunk. Which happens.

You should never fly without at least minimal shields, especially a ship as expensive as an Anaconda.I would love to go exploring in an Anaconda, look at the jump range
http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=306,,2-3I8S9Y8S5KD88I,544mpa2UI2jw 41ly on low fuel.
However I'm still 120 million shy after selling all my assets. Long term goal.
I've been to the core and back twice in mine without shields or problems. In fact, a shield generator makes your ship run hotter while fuel scooping so if anything I would say shields are a hindrance rather than a necessity while exploring deep space. You should never fly without at least minimal shields, especially a ship as expensive as an Anaconda.

IDK what setup you're using, but the only time I have heat problems while scooping is if I charge FSD at the same time.I've been to the core and back twice in mine without shields or problems. I'm not saying I have problems fuel scooping, I'm simply saying that without a shield generator the Anaconda does not get as hot while fuel scooping as it does with one fitted.IDK what setup you're using, but the only time I have heat problems while scooping is if I charge FSD at the same time.
Doesn't get anywhere close to hot even with one. I don't break 90% unless I charge FSD at the same time. The extra heat from a shield generator is a non-issue.I'm not saying I have problems fuel scooping, I'm simply saying that without a shield generator the Anaconda does not get as hot while fuel scooping as it does with one fitted.
Awesome. But it doesn't change the fact that it still runs cooler without. Which is what I was saying.Doesn't get anywhere close to hot even with one. I don't break 90% unless I charge FSD at the same time.
