Will we get city missions once planet landing is there?

I think having a city where your ship should be flying around many other ships in a city made of vertical buildings would be awesome...

Think about The Fifth Element, and being a taxi in that city.
Or having to Haul goods in that maze from one place to the other.
Or think about being pursued by gangs of ships trying to hook you (literally) and rob you... (Or being hunted)
Think about playing a cop that catch bad drivers/pilots or wanted robbers... that themselves could hide in hidden places, out of radar range.

I can't even begin to imagine how cool this would be with my Rift...

Heck, you could even get your own "garage" and place to stay and keep your trophies and s#$t.

Now THAT is what I would expect with planetary landing, lively cities ala Blade Runner or the Fifth Element (there is even some of this in star wars)...

I'd hate if another game started this before ED because I'd have to switch.

There was a game in similar environment but I cannot remember now. You could fly around the city, kill some schwarz characters.

I agree with everything you said. Planet landings with procedurally generated cities, landing areas, missions, eye candy and ship traffic would make this game feel properly alive. I'd like to see the grand theft auto online approach of players being able to own a place to stop off at and store their ships, display trophies and achievements, etc. I don't think they want to go to the extent of people buying planets and cities for themselves, but a small amount of personal property just so you can call somewhere your home planet would be the most desirable.

Doubt its gonna happen, think of the sheer amount of work even procedurally. I doubt we'll get much more than the actual spaceport/hangar. Maybe if the hire 3,000 more people?

I don't think it's too much to ask for a hangar on the surface of Capitol to call my own, is it? Even if it's in the middle of an empty field with a 2D image of a city on the horizon, it'll still be my field. I'm certain there's a way to do it, it just has to be found.

Procedural cities are easy to make. Now imagine it when FDEV makes it! they are pro's with procedural code.

I fully visualise a Grand theft Auto feel but way futuristic.

In GTA, they hand craft everything, but with the right knowledge, letting procedural tech do the hardwork can equally look great.

It's a lot of work, But i believe doable in the long run.

The best feeling I could get would be in a city similar to the one in "The Fifth Element" where Bruce Willis drives a taxi...

I can see myself driving my cobra around these flying ships and between buildings, with Police in pursuit... :-O

Talk of planetary landings at this point is a lot like a terminally starving man asking for a piece chewing gum if you ask me.
