Discussion: Viper fits after power changes

Here's mine. I like it. I have FSD set to a lower priority, Cargo Hatch is off, Fuel Scoop is is set to a lower priority. Beams for shields, Multi Cannons for Hull, Chaff for reasons, Point Defence for reasons, all important modules are A rated, weight is still under optimal for thrusters (120), all fixed weapons. Works great and I can travel wherever I need to. 104% power needed for everything on, I purposely fit this way because I'm not into micro managing things during battle like people were doing with Rails and such.

Pretty standard fit.
I run it almost identicall, but preffer medium beams and small gimballed multi-cannons on top. That way i can aim fixed lasers while firing cannons at the same time...

i love my viper:D
same setup as yours
but without caff and cell banks and all that jazz..
and i got A rated sensors
running at 12.03MW
cargo hatch i just turned off leaving me at 95% power use..

Nice, I like cannons but generally find the extra ammo of multis more useful over time unfortunately.
 
Had a similar setup on my Viper, except C2 beams and gimballed MC's, KWS and point defense. With A1 SCB and an interdictor, I was running HOT... just under 110%, enough to still run things when weapons were deployed. Turning off the hatch did help a little.
 
Am i the only one who uses plasma accelerators + beam lasers on my viper? i even tried something stupid like railguns+ plasma accelerators lol.

Some of us don't like having to micromanage power levels in the middle of combat. Too busy trying not to explode.

... how many things do you have to turn off just to fire the plasmas?
 
Can i ask what the difference is between B3 and A3 sensors? They have the same range IIRC so just wondering what the advantage is to the A3s

i dont mircomanage power, i have cargo scoop, FSDI, fuel scoop, and KWS turned off. i never use them idk why i still have them. now with railguns+plasmas u gotta turn almost everything off, its fun for 5mins and shooting like 3 times gives u 150% heat lol. if i did have to mircomanage constantly then yeah i wouldnt do either its just a one time click off for me.
power use is 13.09/12.00 with weps out.

As far as I can figure the difference is that the a3 will give you faster and stronger lock with gimballed weapons.
I mostly notice it on my beam lasers. The multi cannons seem to not care as much.

I'll get rid then. I only use gimballed multis and fixed beams. I just figured.. well... A has gotta be better than B right??

Yea I really see no reason to run class a sensors on a viper right now.. I run C because it's the lightest while still being 5 km range.
 
I should add that I stopped running chaff since it's useless in PvE. I switched to Pulses and Cannons as well to try it out, worked just fine. Some would say I could probably fit another Bank too if I wanted to micro.

3A Shields
2A Fuel Scoop

EXACTLY 100% power use after turning off Cargo Hatch, FSD and Fuel Scoop with weapons deployment.
