Newcomer / Intro How do I find... anything at all?

Any tips on finding a place with a shipyard that sells something I actually want?

Specifically, looking for an Adder. I have an Eagle right now, and it's fun and all - but I still want 'that other one'.

I am praying to every video game god there is that FD takes this game to a level of complexity (at least in regards to the UI) that goes even half as far as EvE's does.

For the record, I am in the area of Tau Ceti.

Lots of stuff at the first station I hit, but no Adder.

Maybe a dumb question, but in regards to getting multiple ships to the same place - couldn't I just buy a cheap sidewinder, fly it to wherever I need to buy another ship, then exchange it at a small penalty towards the new ship, and then fly it back to the first station?

sidewinder has much less range than what I have, selling what I have would defeat the purpose, and buying a hauler just to trade it in seems like it'd be much more wasteful.

Lo and Behold, I have discovered that the shipyard 'Snyder Enterprise' has a selection of 13 ships, and one of them is in fact the Adder.

Located in the 'TZ Arietis' system.

Just to give ya a hint, you can find systems with different economies in your galaxy map. Your best bet is High Tech systems, which will often provide the greatest variety of ships and ship components.

Also, feel free to check out the link in my guide in my sig below :D Enjoy!

Yes, it's the right way.

This is going swimmingly.

Dropped my scanner for 10 cargo slots, been running back and forth with rare goods. Two trips got me a quarter million credits. Granted, it took two hours... but considering the alternative. The nice thing is, players seem to leave me alone since it's not a hauler, and NPCs are a pathetic joke.

Aprox 13ly jump range right now.

I suppose there really isn't another larger, multi-role ship like this adder is there?
