Totally agree, but the only person who lost out was him.

To him, when he met me in space, it was the most important and exciting thing to have happened to him.
It changed his game, effected his life and will leave a last mark on this soul.

I think you are overestimating your own importance in this game. He had a choice to give you cargo or die so he chose to die. If he was truly that worried about been pirated he would have played in solo. He doesn't care nearly as much as you like to beleive. I'm glad you got nothing from it but a fine. I would happily do the same andauugh about it.

When talking treasure.. You could be talking in physical or a perceived gain.

True I didn't get anything I could sell in a station. But that was easily balanced by the smile i gained seeing his ship blow up.. and that small but ever so helpful step towards ELITE.

As I said.. I didn't lose out. I just retracted my hard points and whirled up my FTL drive.

Speaking as a Trader (sometimes) I personally would do my very best to blow any pirate into a tiny cloud of radioactive dust before giving up any cargo!

And if killed, would quite happily hunt down said pirate in my Asp and blow them away in an act of pure revenge...

This lead to me to the conclusion it was a guy.
