Strange thing while targetting ship modules

Took on a federal black ops mission ... kill some damned impy and get a promotion

Switched to my viper, jumped to the target system and went hunting.... hes in a federal dropship for some reason.. maybe impy shipyards build crummy ships ;)

Theres no way I'm going to be able to rip his hull open and show him deep space , so its target the power plant.. no power.. no fight

After about 5 mins of gun and dodge, , and a ramming attempt that got me down to 14% hull (and the cops showed up in a pair of eagles.... may the
gods of deep space look after the one that got splashed :( ), I managed to get the dropship's power plant to 0%

He slows to a stop, and its time to move in for the kill ........ and yet he carries on firing beam lasers at me as I come in... :eek:
power plant 0% = no power for the ship including guns I thought

Limped back to my usual haunts and claimed my promotion anyway... and 5000cr in ship repairs :rolleyes:

No you're not wrong I've noticed that too. I've taken out other ships systems that when they reach zero also still work. Weapons still firing when they've been destroyed is a bit odd and as you say take out power plant yet weapons etc still work.
 
0% power plant should have blown him up. Are you sure you targeted power plant and not power distributor?

Yuppers it said Power plant on the targeting readouts because I had to reset it a couple times when withdrawing to re-charge my shields took him out of range for a few seconds.

But he's dead now and good riddance
