Newcomer / Intro new rares in stock when out of supply.

its pretty much a waiting game since the market doesnt refresh for up to 10 minutes which makes the haul 2 hours instead of a slight lesser 1 1\2 hours.

19 systems on route * 10 minutes (if unlucky) = 190 minutes extra haul.

I guess the answer is if its not fun don't do it...
In a T6 you can easily make 100k+ every 5-10mins doing regular trading if you look for a good route. That's 1.2-2.4million in 2 hrs. Or you can sit about doing nothing waiting for rares to spawn....
If you don't enjoy it at the stage you are (T6 - T7) you shouldn't really be rares trading anymore its just not profitable.
In a T7 you will make over double that, easily making 2million an hour.

with 2 out of 17 of the rare there?

I think at rares are "overfished" at the popular easily accessible stations that are clustered conveniently together, e.g. Lave, Zaonce, Leesti, 39 Tauri, Witchhaul, Fujin, etc.

Remember that Solo and Open players buying in the station markets affects everyone.

If you go to a rares station that's say, 500,000 ls away from the nav beacon, and therefore extremely inaccessible, you'll find those rares are usually fully in-stock. But of course, the bad news is that it takes you 30 minutes in supercruise to get there.

Huh ? I thought that each player had its own supplies of rare goods so it wouldn't be affected by other players ?

It's simple, really. You move to Lave Station, buy your 2 tons of Lave Brandy there, move on to Leesti, George Lucas, buy 3 tons of Azure Milk and 10 tons of Leestian Evil Juice there, move on to Orrere, Uszaa etc and then rinse and repeat.

On your second go-through Lave Station will most likely have the 5 remaining tons, as after one refresh stations tend to have the remaining amount of rares. At worst, you have to have another go. But at least you don't spend time just waiting.

You are right. I've traveled to the rare trading stations that are further out and still been stiffed on a full load of rares. Did the run to Hutton orbital and had to sit and wait for 30 minutes before I reached my max allotment.

Each player has their own maximum entitlement, but the rares will spawn randomly in order to reach that entitlement. It's really not worth sitting and waiting. Either visit another station if you're doing a loop, do some other activity, or just start the return journey for a point to point. Waiting and doing nothing is dead time.

I usually run Orrere (Sharon Lee Free Market: Orrerian Brew), Uszaa (Guest Installation: Uszaian Tree Grub), Zaonce (Ridley Scott: Leathery Egg), Lave (Lave Station: Lavian Brandy), Leesti (George Lucas: Azure Milk & Leestian Evil Juice), Diso (Shifnalport: Diso Ma Corn) and a little further away down the galactic plane CD-75 661 (Kirk Dock: CD-75 Kitten Brand Coffee).

It also pays a bit to take a look at the bulletin boards in that cluster, as these stations tend to have courier and small haulage missions to one another.

Then I do the whole loop again a second time, only this time I leave Zaonce out, as they only have one Leathery Egg per player. On the second loop, I usually fill up on rares and can start my journey to Momus Reach, Fujin, 39 Tauri, Wolf 1301, Witchhaul, Zeessze and Tanmark. Those are a little further apart, but still close enough for some round loops.

Some of the goods from that second cluster are considered to be of "questionable legality", so I always sell at Sharon Lee Free Market, Orrere.

Sitting idle for 10 minutes waiting for the market to freshen up is wasted time, IMHO.

k. i'll try that then. but i think i wouldnt be able to fill up cargo holds for the trip 120+ LY away then? doing the round trips.. i dont like round trips.. but i guess thats what trading entails nowadays :p
