The 'd' word isn't a swear word as such, but has certain connotations over here. Unfortunately it now also has quite another meaning in certain contexts which isn't really suitable for a family friendly forum. If Erik were to say that he was "bogging" Kow it would raise eyebrows at the very least. As far as I know, the term comes from participants using the excuse 'going to walk the dog' as a cover for their activities.

Back to drabbling 29 votes and we still have a tie for first place.
Ah the struggle to get 100 words exactly, plenty of times I've had to rework something and sometimes ended up with an entirely different story. It's not easy, but practice does help.

Wait, really? The UK has an issue with "bogging" with a d? Man, they drive on the wrong side of the road and they have the absolute silliest swear words. In the States, it's also 'to follow somebody relentlessly' or harass them. Like a dog on your heels, begging.

Anyway...

Hmm, I was going to respond to some other post... Oh yeah.. that was it...

Micky, I initially compose my Drabble in Notepad. After so many drabbles, I now hit so close to 100 words it's scary. Then I jump over to www.wordcounter.net and toss the drabble in there to see how close to 100 I really am. Generally, when I'm writing, I make mental notes of adjectives I can add or remove to tweak it a word or two.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents from the guy with only 2 votes. :D

I always thought the word for relentless pursuit was dogged rather than an alcoholic drink made out of pressed canines and juniper berries (dog gin).

Darkoba im originally from Halewood. Jackanory and that other one Storybook international or something where the storyteller turns into a fox...

Born in Bootle Lived there until I was 12, then moved up the road to Litherland, until I left the Pool and eventually ended up in Amsterdam. Nice to meet you, Micky

Well it was almost fate. The topic 2-1 and 2 have won!

Congratulations Frank and KalRyper on your shared win, and well done to everyone else, especially CrystalK and Telakin. Great drabbles again this week.

Now be ready to get your drabbles in before the doors close, I predict a record run of submissions on Monday and Tuesday :)

Hee hee hee!.. Sorry for sounding like an excited schoolgirl but Hee hee hee! Thanks for everyone that voted for me. Whilst I'm patting myself on the back I'll give KalRyper a few pats on his back as well. Congratulations Kal!

As a treat, and seeing as I'm going to host next week's contest, I'll give you a full choice of topic.

Well done the Winners and the rest of us.
Nice to meet you too Darkoba and all the Drabblers.
Add me in game if you can, im Usually in Riedquat System Learning to fly or Cygni X-3 ....

When you check your bank balance before you vote, I hope you don't take the amount you find in there as meaning we don't want you to vote for anybody.

I shall call you Madame Frank from now on, in honor of your clairvoyant powers. I can't imagine how you knew it would turn out that way.

As it happens, I didn't vote. But not because all of you are cheapskates, but because I thought the poll would close at 00:00 gmt.

I'll declare my votes here instead: T.J, Goose and Mogadon/Crystal.

I was going to toss a coin to decide between Mogadon and Crystal, but I didn't have one.

Oh, and congratulations on the win too! :)

Gratz Kal & Frank!

I think I'm going to submit late this week so the new drabblers get an extra entry slot. Don't worry, Midden & MrMogadon, I'll still post up the next installment in the continuing story of Kalran!

Since I went to "check" on Bleke's account I don't have a coin to toss either. I have to make do with throwing a piece of paper in the air and checking to see if lands Benjamin Franklin or Independence Hall.

I kept checking the poll to see how my drabble was doing, then each time I remembered that I didn't have a slot this week. Have to think about a drabble earlier in the week!

Congrats to the the two winners, another tie for first place!

Wow, great turnout from voters. Thanks to all and congrats to Frank.
My half of the offering, this week, is "Fleet".

Keep writing. :)

Congrats to the winners - both brilliant stories (and very honorable mentions to Krystal and Telakin) - and big thanks to Monsieur Kow for bringing them to life with such raffish charm.

I've realised that in order to keep competing at this level I'm going to have to start taking performance enhancing drugs - I hope to have a good run of things before mandatory drug testing is introduced for all participants.

Darnit! My bribe, er, contribution must have got there too late!

Yes, unfortunately the delivery service doesn't operate on weekends. I got it now. Very shiny, thank you very much!

I will use it to decide wether or not to vote for your drabble this week.
