Gotta justify the dual card slots in the Mobo somehow! LOL
I have triple slots on my Mobo, glad I don't have your fetish as another two GTX 970s would be a tad expensive (if you include a new PSU to power them)

Well for $150 you could prolly get a 750ti which would be head and shoulders above what your currently using.
I usually pickup a pair of cards in the $150 range and that typically will put me on par with a single card that costs more than double.
Shoot these 9600's lasted me what? ...4 or 5 years? Can't complain too hard I guess.

I second the recommendation to get a good single card instead of two lower end ones. I'd say go for a single GTX 960, they're selling for around $200.
It will be *much* faster than what you have now, and you won't have to deal with SLI profiles and bugs.
Exactly and if I went with 2 cards I wouldn't have room for my beloved X-Fi Fatality.(too bad FD have borked the sounds tho...)
I think you'll have no trouble picking up a couple of 560Ti's or 570's (my setup) within your budget, then enjoy stutter & corruption-free 1080P goodness![]()
