An Earth-Like World

Has anyone clicked on Earth in the system map? It says Earth is an Earth-Like world. Really?

I'm not sure if this was an oversight on Frontier's part or if this is supposed to be some kind of subtle humor.

I could describe things in many ways, but for example, if I were to say "This apple is very apple-like" or " That dog is very dog-like" Wouldn't that be stating the obvious?

If have seen a couple of dogs that weren't really dog-like.

There is a sheep on Youtube that grew up with dogs and now thinks it's a dog, so it is not a very "sheep like" sheep, it is a "dog like" sheep although all of the dogs were "dog like" apart from the one that was sleeping and that was rug like.

It's a classification.

Earth-Like is... well Earth-Like, because we don't have any other way of mentioning planets that are like our world.

It could be called Terra-formed, but there are other aspects, like water, life, atmosphere that a terra-formed planet may not have

I think a different classification for earth-like worlds would be good.

"Terrestrial" comes to mind.

Except terrestrial can mean many things and they probably wanted life bearing worlds that are "earth-like" to be their own thing in the game.

Who's to say humans won't do this in the future when more planets that can support our type of life is found. Right now we can't really call it a classification since we only really have one example and therefore no reason to put it into a group, but when we later find more this will change.

well earth should be earth

since earth is the point of reference for earth like worlds. at least to my understanding, that's how it should be like lol

btw when i traveled to sol it felt just very random, not handcrafted at all, even jupiter felt like any of the other gas giants :S. and i might be wrong but earth landmass was not like it should be, it looked random too :/ (not 100% sure if i saw it correctly though)

I mean come on, Sol should be on heck of cool experience to explore, its the only solar system we actually know in depth to add "extra" spice yet it feels meh :S

The only thing wrong with Earth is that the game time doesn't match the position of the day-night terminator accurately. (Or at least it didn't; I haven't been back to Sol since 1.1 dropped.) Land features are very recognizable.

This is an easy question.

Earth-Like means is Like Earth - Category The one in Sol is actually called Earth too!

Edit after re-reading post:In terms of the Earth-like not in sol

But has the advantages of not being infested with selfish Humans.

If it's 18:00 game time, I'm pretty sure that I can find somewhere on Earth that looks about 6pm...
