RegulatedNoise - trade tool with zxctypo's best-in-class OCR (EliteOCRReader as-was)

Can we possibly get a multi station route? As trading has now changed quite a bit a two way route is not often the most optimal. So adding a third or fourth station should make it a lot easier to do better profit.

Having some issues with the current system log files , not showing current system ,, say its setting, then says have to restart ED if already running, done this twice now, I think my logs or setting have stuffed up

any procedures ? , NO crashes as yet I did run this TCE Trade Computer Extension a few days back, its an in game overlay xml spreadsheet that runs via excel , impressive work , I have a feeling its changed some settings, not using it , was just see what it did, since then some issues have cropped up.

Hi

I released the v1.84-0.03 on Github. This will be the last release that I publish in
this thread because I added a routine to the programm to notify you if there's a
new DJ version of this app on GitHub (as the original does, too)
It will inform you if there's a new "original" OR a new "DJ" version.

@sutex: you could delete the RegulatedNoiseSettings.xml (save it before!)
Perhaps one of the paths in this file is incorrect.

Could you ad multiroutes as requested a post above? And also it would be great to be able to share data with friends either through a db we create ourselves or a ftp db or such.

Also what was the original german thread? (so i can post requests there too ;) )

I was trying out the OCR feature and managed to get it imported without a station name. I'd like to remove this one entry but I can not find the file to delete. Its not in with my other imported files (from OCR Elite) and a search of the directory didn't enlighten me. I really don't like seeing it in all my price analysis tabs and its driving me nuts.

The commodities are in the "AutoSave.csv"
Open this file in a editor

But you can also edit the stationname and /or the systemname in the "Price Analysis"->"By Station" tab.
On the right side is a "Rename" option

I've recently upgraded to latest version (from 1.3) and since upgrading scanning doesn't seem to import the stations into the program. The station I have issues with is called Suzuki Orbital and is located in Mbere. What gives? Does the station need to be on the http://starchart.club/ (I just added the station there, but am not situated in Mbere anymore to scan anew) ?

No is the short answer, about the http://starchart.club this shouldn't have any affect

A lot has changed since 1.3 , calibrate again , see if that fixes your issues
Install this one first

Then overwrite with this

It' not more necessary to get first the base version from stringandstickytape.
The archiv of my version contains now all files too.

another thing:
I' m a little bit confused because there was no reaction from stringandstickytape/maxh2003
since the last update to 1.84 :S I hope he will continue the development of RegulatedNoise.

Until this happens I like to update the datafiles (elite.json / Station.csv). Knows anyone where they come from.
I looked at EDDB but those files have another format and other names - or was there a update to the EDDB datafiles
so that the old format no longer exists ?

Has anyone some information about this ?

Please take care with OCR calibration

Hi - This tool is great. saves reams of notepaper, calculator finger and eye strain. Wonderful.
I only have one comment and that is to ask that commanders who upload to EDDN, please check that the prices are valid. The majority of commanders are diligient but I suspect that someone(s) has OCR set on 'Auto Import'.
The set of suspect values were uploaded on 13-Feb-2015 at around 20:00 to 22:00
if you look at Wundt Hub in Brani, you can see Indite best buy price of 20cr/unit (should be approx 2000cr/unit)
At Rzeppa Relay, Lepidolite has a best buy price of 44cr/unit (should be approx 450cr/unit)
Also, if you take a look at the station Yamazaki Terminal you can see that Bauxiter is for sale at 4cr/unit (should be approx 45cr/unit)
and there are more stations affected.

So, whoever you may be, next time you visit your stations, please check and recapture the commodity data. It would really be good to be able to rely on good pricing to plan those longer excursions ;).

Many thanks for a great product and for all the work that went into it!!

See you all in the deep.

Duke, I can help you with that. Hopefully I can get you something this evening.

The elite.json is from StarChart, you can download the latest with this link: http://starchart.club/elite.json
The station.csv is from TradeDangerous, you can grab the latest from here: https://bitbucket.org/kfsone/tradedangerous/src/c1fbc159e66e50d130d1bc4ae97e319175acd554/data/?at=master

Both these sources will be inferior to the EDDB data, as EDDB is updated from many sources (including these). So going forward it would be better to switch over to the EDDB format, but probably best to wait for the improved REST API.

Hey, this is great. Thank you very much !! :)

But you're right. It's better to wait for the API (but it depends also on when will it come)

I think that's a nice idea, but unfortunately the time is the greatest problem.
The other devs of this tool seem to be vanished and I have only a few hours per week
if I want to play ED as well - and I definitively want to :D

So lets see what can be done - but don't await too much :)

But at this moment RN seems to be very stable, reliable and fast (with v1.84_006).
The next steps will be the improvments of the comboboxes (your suggestions).

Sorry to interrupt your flying ;-)
I have previously seen comments that By Commodity tab resets to first commodity and By Station tab resets to first station.
I am now experiencing it myself.
I have worked out, I think ??? that it only occurs when EDDN is set to 'listening'.
Hmmmm.
So, it can be dealt with. Would be nice if the code only updated contents of that tab when user clicked off it.
BUT, I expect that would require a large cacher, which is likely to be unrealistic.
The manual alternative is...
Stop EDDN listening while user is working out a trade route. Start again after route is decided.
That seems to work for me :)

Yep very stable, but it seems the latest version has started to get a lot of station names wrong :( I have to edit every 6-7th scan or such.

Hm, I will see what I can do.

I don't have changed anything with the station recognition in the last versions (thinking so)
but maybe you've issues with stationnames that are not in the "old" data files (elite.json / station.csv).
I've read that some stationnames have changed after the last ED updates. Maybe there's the connection ?
A possibility ?
Which was the last version where the recognition of the stations was good ?

on the other hand:
I'm currently working on the 007 - it's base data comes direct from the EDDB data (they get daily updates).
If the issue comes due to wrong / no longer existing station names so it should be better then if the correct
names are in those new datafiles.
