RegulatedNoise - trade tool with zxctypo's best-in-class OCR (EliteOCRReader as-was)

Check the path in the properties of the ED link on your desktop. You must
point to the "procucts" subdir in this path.
Be sure you take the DJ-version (I prefer the 15_1 prerelease).
The old version (from the first post in this thread) is no longer continued.

  • port of webserver is adjustable .. Thanks Duke
The Web server function , when its looked at , can it be optimized for Tablets touch screen 1040 x 600/1280 x 800 range I figure if its works well for a tablet then it should be fine for a second large monitor

I started my own thread for the DJ version - so please

"RegulatedNoise DJ-Version" *All in one* Trading Tool[/h]
Many of you will already know

RegulatedNoise

and the others can get to know it here :)

Originally, this open source tool was created by maxh2003 (link to original thread)
but unfortunately it was not further developed .

As for my needs (see list) it was exactly the right tool, I decided to continue the development of RN

  • Trading Tool
  • Commanders Log
  • view of systemdata
  • systemdata based on EDDB
  • built-in, quick OCR
  • plausibilitycheck for scanned marketdata
  • optional connection to EDDN (export and/or import)
  • open source

Obviously such a huge task is only worthwhile if the tool is also used by others.
Therefore, I hereby open up a separate thread to my Duke Jones version of RegulatedNoise .

Meanwhile, since the "takeover" with the version v1.84 I added various optimizations and extensions, which can be found in the changelog.
I will issue a tutorial fairly soon but prior to this please ask your questions in this thread.

changelog since overtaking from v1.82/v1.84:

The recognition rate is now very high, and in addtion I added a plausibility check for the scanned data.
I personally trust in the auto import on my system, but If you do not have good recognition rates
or something does not match - please advise.

The development is far from being finalized, so if you have constructive suggestions, please let me know...

Please feel free to post any errors, hints, improvement tips here:

The EDDN will drop schema V1 support on the first of July.
Please do upgrade in time to "RegulatedNoise DJ-Version" *All in one* Trading Tool
by Duke.

RN is not further developed and has no support for EDDN schema V2. Sending data to the EDDN will most likely result in an error shown. Anyway NO data will be send ana longer and you will not be able to receive data from the EDDN. RN still seems to be in use according to the EDDN-monitor. Duke has taken over and created RN-DJ. Please upgrade to his version of Regualted Noise.

Jamesremuscat who created the EDDN and was later joined by Anthornet (performed mircales) has make this official statement in my EDDN thread. Otis B. was the man behind the shipyard information schema.

Hi all,

Please take this as notice of some downtime for EDDN at around 23:00 BST (22:00GMT, 00:00 CEST) on 1st July, for the deployment of v0.5.

The main changes in this release are configuration: namely, dropping support for the v1 schema, and adding support for a new shipyard information schema. Thanks to all who have contributed to this release.

Total interruption should be less than 30 minutes.

In the past your excellent tool, thread has been added to EDCodex. Before EDCodex was released on the 17th of August you have received in the period 5th - 10th of August a PM with an invitation and a special link. After registering and logging in you would automatically become owner of your entry. According to the admin tool(s) you haven't used the special link (yet). Perhaps you have missed the PM or have been (temporarily) away from ED. Its also possible you choose not to claim your entry. Note: Its also possible to assign another commander editing rights for your entry. In either case please send us a PM. You can find your EDCodex entry here and here.

Alternative way to get ownership
The special link will cease to function in the (near) future, for security reasons. Should you after that point want to become owner of your entry you can use the "Claim ownership" button. In that case please send biobob or myself a PM with the email addressed you used for registration - for verification. You can also use this procedure if you no longer have the PM.

What is EDCodex:
Its a website with a database of currently approx 215+ tools, threads, websites, videos for ED. Any one can and is encouraged to add entries there. EDCodex is and should be community-driven. EDCodex companion thread. Its equally suited for PC's, tablets and smartphones and has RSS feeds.

With kind regards,
Biobob

Update: Added another EDcodex entry which points to the save thread but it are in fact two different tools.

I was using EliteOCR with great results. But now I can't even start RegulatedNoise as I do not have an "FORC-FDEV" folder anywhere on my PC.

I have all folders set to unhidden and have searched in all the places where it should be but it's just not there.

My game folder is this:

H:\Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\elite-dangerous-64\

and I'm running on Windows 10 64 bit.

Under my user folder where the FDEV folder should be all I have is this:

c:\Users\****\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\EDLaunch.exe_Url_er0vdfzqqnerokgjb2k3vfboizi0xjzn\

Can anyone help with this.

Thanks
