Declaration of intent for Community Projects..

As there were some issues with the recent Community Project, in terms of who was who and doing what, how would players feel about putting to use the same mechanic we use in conflict zones? On entry to any Community Project zone, a player would be asked to select between 'friend to the project' or 'enemy to the project' this would allow the system to flag players appropriately and make life much easier in terms of planning defence and attack. If no choice is made, the system would assume 'friendly to the project' until that player fired upon another at which point they would be flagged according to whom they hit.. ie hit someone who selected friendly to the project and you'd become flagged 'enemy to the project' and vice versa.

If at all possible, i also think that once you have selected a side, or been flagged through your own actions, that selection should stand for the full run of the Community Project, with the proviso that what happens in the Community Project Zone, should stay in the Community Project Zone! :)

Why would we do this, the clear goal is to support the expansion of UNiversal cartogries, which is a netural faction. Why would we add friends and or enemies of building a new station could u pleae clarify

Nope, disagree with this idea. I can do whatever I want in this game without having to make an explicit choice just for one element of it so others know my intentions up front. And not being able to change your mind ??! That's even crazier.

This would actually force you to take part in the conflict and choose a side from the beginning. What about mercs who switch sides as mission parameters change, just because of profit? What about explorers, commanders on a fly-through in need of just docking and so on? I think the only mechanic that could be integrated is the offer of proper counter missions in adjacent systems or stations... probably a counter community goal.

yeah i think one side or the other thinking is a bit limiting.
