Couple of questions really troubling me

Hey guys, there's couple of things that bother me in regard to current game design and maybe some of you have some info from previous development stages that would put some light on those two problems.

1. Is this a design choice you can get a fine and bounty AND Kill On Sight order for damaging YOURSELF with your own missiles (from splash damage)? All security ships wanted to kill me because I almost killed myself. I've heard police brutality, but this is a bit extreme :D

2. Why there's no 3D system map like in original elite or even Pioneer? This is not something that could be hard to do considering map aware skybox and all orbits being drawn anyways. That would make system travel much more intuitive - and that leads us to

3. Why can't we chose navigation points from system map?

I must say, that although I love FD, those two things were a bit of disappointment, as those are not the "design choices" but essential, and even integral part of that type games, not to mention Frontier being best out of them all.

And on a less serious note, can we have intro music from F2:E back please?

I'm no programmer or server geek but I have a suspicion regarding #3; (why can't we choose nav. points from sys. map?). The P2P nature of the servers and the desire by FD to keep so much of the client code on the servers. Thus lag/resource problems. Many would like an 'Orrery', but that doesn't seem to be in the offing.

Don't take this at all as factual; its purely a 'post in the dark'. And please a Developer come on and correct me...

+1 on the point to point navigation. I think that would have been solved by the 34th century. After all, even today's mapping software can get you from one house to another, even across state lines.

It shouldn't be the questions that trouble you...

It's the answers...

In response to point one - attempted suicide is a crime punishable by death so if you don't want to be killed, make sure you do it properly yourself :)

I think that I am in paradox heaven - I wonder if there is going to be a system with that name, somewhere that has a good resource that is difficult to get to and sell like a wheat that grows in abundance but has huge snake like creatures preventing the people from harvesting it and even if you did, the population there are all gluten intolerant :) (Sorry for going off subject )
