I was pretty disappointed in it. I hauled about 3.5k tons and made it to the top 15% but the prices in the nearby stations were ridiculously high. I actually made a loss of over 200cr/ton on gold on my last trip today.
If they expect anyone to take part in future events they're going to have to do something about that. Community goals are all very well but building a space station is not a charity and when I'm promised top profits to get me to travel hundreds of light years to get there I expect to get them, or at the very least some kind of unique reward.
Whoever decided that a discount on station services was a suitable reward is obviously someone who is just a code monkey who doesn't actually play the game he or she is writing.
If another one comes up in the area I happen to be in I'll probably check it out but I'm not travelling dozens of jumps just to get there unless they make it significantly more attractive
