Elite Dangerous Australian Community Thread

Hello all.

Well with the amazing Lavecon and now Elite meet running in a few days, I couldn't help but think how many Australian Elite fans there are.

The main issue was, as Australia is so large, with just even the state of Victoria being almost able to fit the entire UK, we are likely to be scattered throughout. eg: For me to drive to Sydney for example would be equivalent of driving from London to Wick (top of Scotland), over 920+ kilometres.

With this in mind I thought I'd put out the word to see how many Australians we have on there just to see. Who knows there might be enough in your state for an Elite-meet or maybe a nice quite dinner for 3-4 somewhere.

So I'll start off.
I'm in the state of Victoria.

The current tally will always be updated on this first post.

VIC - 32 (20 in metro area)
NSW - 17 (3 in non metro area)
SA - 10
QLD - 12
WA - 6
ACT - 2
NT-1
TAS - 2

Draw a sqaure around Victoria. Stick a pin in the middle. Thats me.

actually, I did this. Shepparton is about the closest when you do this.

Ok so two from Victoria. That's a start. I know Steve OB Have is in Sydney.

Live in Perth so now there is someone on the other side of the country.

Been an Elite player since C64 days (that makes me oldish!).

Looking forward to this one.

@Zplintz Elite was pretty big here in 1985.

Ok taking everyone from the Elite in Australia thread and tallying thing up we have

VIC - 7 (3 in metro area)
NSW - 5 (1 in non metro area)
QLD - 1 (Commander Mick ?)
WA - 1

Did you not realize Australia is where you guy's sent all the bad guys a few hundred yrs ago - to forget about -

Well it might be enough for people in some states to have SOME kind of get together although it would likely be at a restaurant or a bar or something like that for a meal / chat. :smilie:

Yeah I knew that there were many fans in AUS - just wasn't sure how many were backers.

Re sending the bads guys over to AUS many years ago.... in hindsight, it has to go down as one of the worst punishments ever, doesn't it? No wonder it is so hard to get Australian citizenship too.

New Zealand was going to be a state of AUS at one point (when it was easier to get a boat from melbourne to wellington than it was to take a horse from wellington to auckland).

Does that mean I get counted?

New Zealand friends are ALWAYS welcome with open arms. I go to New Zealand almost every year (South Island) to do my adventure stuff.

I love it there ! Quite scary a month ago when I was there in the avalanche zone.....well....trapped there anyway..........

You are the only Qld one I know. I counted you in the last tally.
