I'm not defending anything, and indeed I've been quite outspoken over things which were discussed in the DDF but have yet to appear.

The role of the DDF and the "god like powers" is still a running discussion on the DDF forums - there have been recent suggestions/initiatives by FD but that's inside the DDF, which I believe you don't have access to. So, there you go. We'll wait and see what develops, meantime, it's suffice to say that the DDF is still a blissful oasis of sensible and measured discussion on a variety of topics.

But I might add, all those of us who pledged to DDF level appear to be largely sensible enough to take a balanced view of what could, possibly should, or should not be implemented, rather than spout off in the general forums.

Right Slopey because you and the DDF people never "spout off" in the general forums, you've got Mt. Olympus to do that in. How do you know I don't have access to the DDF? Perhaps I have friends that do and I see all you gods are doing in your secret hidey hole. You really are just spouting off ain't ya?

Point being, this is just another one of David's promises that haven't come to pass and like the vast majority of things you guys have discussed in the DDF, that eventually made it to the DDA, they aren't in the game either are they?

LOL - I don't talk about DDF topics in the General forums, never have, except on one particular occasion where I was perturbed about removing the distinction between player and NPC radar icons - check it if you like.

You've never posted in the DDF forum, ever as far as I can tell from the search function. If you have access, drop in by and say hello - I'm on the generic discussion topic just now I'll post just now and you can reply to it.

The DDF is not under NDA - if someone tells you, that's perfectly fine. Otherwise, it's possibly a bug - please report it.

Make sure when you and your buddies are handing out warnings and infractions you don't neglect yourself.

I don't believe I've done anything in this topic, or elsewhere which would incurr an infraction, beyond some swear filter evasion many moons ago. But I'll report myself, just in case.

And if you think DDF members blindly support DB and ED, then you've not done your research - several DDF members have been most vocal in regard to non-delivery (not without reason to be fair). But I'll leave that as an exercise for the reader.

Report what exactly? That I can't post in a secret forum I'm not an official member of? As I said earlier, because I can't post in there doesn't mean I can't see what you gods are talking about.

If you're not under a NDA then please explain how the OP video of David's promised "god like powers" are working right now in-game. I'm sure a lot of your faithful worshipers would like to ask their gods a few questions. Possibly, for example, why a .1% influence faction still holds a system after months of people trying to change it? Cruel cruel Gods.

I suppose it's all part of Alpha testing and rolling developement, that FD never states before people buy the game, as opposed to "mood piece" trailers for things to come, "soon", "in future newsletters".

If you look in the DDF Archives, the shield system bears no resemblance to the DDF proposal - I live in hope (hopefully along with others) that one day it may do. Community goals likewise - no DDF involvement. Reduced interdictions again, nothing to do with the DDF, and I've been asking for an increase for the last 6 months personally (search and check if you like) - I think the current level is far better since the last patch - it actually feels "dangerous" again.

And I've wanted social tools since day 1. I continually point people at Jumpgate as an example of how to do multiplayer Elite online - after all, it lasted 10 years with monthly subs, so it must have done something right!

Which differs in what way from the older discussions about these same things? These are all topics that have been discussed in the DDF in the past. Here's the whole point (I believe) of this thread and the OP, there's been way too much talk and very little action, other than, like the items you posted above, that weren't discussed but, for some reason were worked on and added to the game anyway. Yay community goals!

At what point will FD start listening to all the gods in the DDF? Right now, you guys talk about painting the walls different colors, settle on a few colors, say blue, green and red, and then FD comes out of nowhere and paints the ceiling Yellow. Good work almighty DDF Gods, we know FD is listening to you guys.

Actually, it was more than worth it for the year or so prior to launch where the debate and discussion was unrivalled with other forums from a noise to signal ratio perspective. Have a look back through the DDF archives at the topics, and you'll see they are constructive, well reasoned, and with very very little baiting or abuse.

Absolutely worth it imho, regardless of which god like powers we get "Soon"tm.

If this was some steam game i'd bought I wouldn't give a toss. It was the whole kickstarter, involving fans of the original in the design process, the dev team talking on video about their memories of the original...

I mean for gods sake put someone in charge of the project and get on with making what we all forked out for, or pack it in and sell it to someone who wants to develop it without all this farting around with mmo rubbish that you will never ever be able to create enough content for anyway.
