Mission Branches Still Broken

That is;

- Accept mission (delivery, assassination, etc.)
- Travel to USS
- Offered 'double-cross' by random ship
- BORK!

Entire mission is either un-finishable or bombs your reputation. According to support, these were resolved in 1.1 but I am still getting them and my fed rep is stank when it should be glowing.

Is anyone else still experiencing these 'mission branch' bugs?

Not really. I choose my missions based on the faction that it's for. I accept several at a time (if I can) and go to SC as soon as I can out of the station. Drop to 30Km/s and pootle along until I get a USS. Insta-drop, listen to the branch, rinse and repeat.
.
Once all the mission branches have been given, I start doing the missions and regardless of the branch offer, I submit my claim at the original station.
.
The process is especially important where the mission is to destroy n ships of type x. If you manage to make any headway into n, it gets reset to zero when you drop into that mission's branch USS, and you have to start again.

u would think it was easy enough to program something in where it tracks youre kills, and then carries them over if u decide to continue the mission. Alas poor programming has let it in this semi shambles state

If you have mission like "kill 6 pirates in systems x,y,z" don't EVER drop into USS, guys. (Unless you want the optional goal, of course, but then make it first)
Nav beacon is much safer and quicker.

And why would anyone with courier/delivery/fetch mission wanted to visit the USS? o_O

The only reason to go into USS is to look for valuable cargo to smuggle, or looking for high-value assassination target. And both of those work fine.

Yes no the delviery missions avoid USS sites and just go straight to youre destination

hear hear. nothing worse than finishing a difficult or time-consuming mission, just to get a message of "excellect job, commander!" on handing it in - and then seeing all those little red arrows on every faction page

or on another mission type, e.g. freeing the slaves, you end up receiving an alt. mission to sell the slaves instead - and the original path of freeing them no longer exists on the bulletin board. so all you can do is sell them or dump them and abandon. you often then get another sub-mission to snitch on your original mission giver for cash in some unrelated star system - the whole thing leaves you feeling rather dirty, when it was initially meant to be an act of humane goodwill

This 'bug' has been plaguing my game since launch. Note the date:

This issue should be resolved in update version 1.1 which is due to be rolled out any time now. Please update to version 1.1 when it is available.

Regards,
Support.

The ticket was marked 'Resolved' and closed.

I took it on good faith it would be fixed and waited it out, losing countless ships, credits and loads along the way because stations that had been modestly friendly up until that point, suddenly became HOSTILE.

The new ticket I've opened has gone un-opened, un-read, un-resolved. My game is literally un-playable.

This screenshot was taken 5 minutes ago. It still has the broken missions that I can neither abandon or delete in any way.

This one even has graphical glitches. It can't be deleted, abandoned or removed in any way:

The lost hours spent trying to resolve this in-game and out are enough to make a person mental. It's really no wonder the forums are always on fire.

this and many bugs that were supposed to be fixed are still present in 1.1.04 so i dont know if FD need to hire new programming types or if their internal quality control is instead set to rush ignore push forward. I just hope teh company isnt about to go broke .....

It's become obvious to me that either the entire QA team, the development team or everyone in management is either completely incompetent or they simply don't care.

Either way, something is very, VERY wrong.

Same happened to me last night.

Haven't played for a while - got a fed system friendly with me. Feeling pretty happy. Take a pirate kill mission. Go to location. Is unexplored and had sold my discovery scanner so can't find the nav beacon. See a USS and having forgotten about the bug think ah I'll find some pirates this way

= Mission BORK!

Haven't gone back to originating system yet - but checked the rep panel and all those lovely red down arrows were there.

Why can't they implement a simple choice selector in these cases - "Keep original mission or take new alternative"

These reset hours of work issues are sole destroying.

...thanks for suggesting the work around btw - will know to do this in future.

Had one yesterday and another today. No more USS stops during missions I guess. Stop at a USS and get put into a no win scenario. Pretty stupid. I started in beta 2 and have always felt like there's a faction in FDev that just has a "haha, gotcha" mentality with no rational place in the game. I commented so may times regarding the lack of leadership maturity at FD that i seldom bring it up anymore as I've just learned to accept that that's the way it is...

Pretty azzinine frustrating when you're trying to finish the last Rank progression mission you need. Only need to move up to Earl and I'll be done with those.
