Desperately seeking new ship models

So I accumulated a little cash and decided to test drive a few other ships.

Parked my Asp. Got behind the wheel of a Python, and fitted it out, then took it for a spin.

1) Immediately missed my Asp's view, sound, handling, and especially JUMP DISTANCE.

2) Fitted a few HUGE GUNS...they're nice, but since nobody even goes near me out of fear, and I'm not a pirate, they came in ZERO useful.

Parked it, sold it.

Ok, so then I figured what the heck- and bought an Orca.

1) Nice Bridge. Very modern in a Star Trek sort of way. Lots of empty space. Very empty space.

2) View like my old Cobra, so that wasn't that bad, but still nothing like the Asp's bubble view.

3) Sounds like an electric car- not very resonating.

4) To quote Douglas Adams : "Looks like a fish, moves like a fish. steers like a cow."

Parked it. Sold it.

Got in my Asp and that's where I'll stay.

UNTIL: When are the new ships coming?! I know they're going to, but come on. Lots of more ships! Different kinds of ships! That have great jump ranges! After flying a few other big ships I'm afraid they'll just put in some that look good on the outside-but just handle like the others- which is as useful as you know what on a bull.

The Asp is the PINNACLE in flying fun vs. universal abilities ie: fighting, money making, exploring- at the moment. And this ship has a 6,000 credit initial cost!! Spend 50+ on a ship and I expect something really cool- not just extra hard points.

I will admit that I haven't flown the Anaconda or the big Space Cow T9, but I doubt they handle very nice. The Clipper may handle ok, but it isn't a very tough ship for the cost, and looks like it was designed by a 10 year old in my opinion.

I love the Asp, but when the whole game revolves around buying and outfitting more and better ships, I think they could add some more variety, and soon.

Pro tip, past the Asp, quit looking for qualities that would make the ship a good dog fighter. You passed that point.

Edit: Hold the phone, you sold the Python, because people were afraid of you? You didnt even bother to see why?
Christ.

Although I enjoyed my ASP for just about everything, including combat, I have upgraded to my Python for now. I would like a bit more firepower. If I am going to make money in this game, I want to shoot for something that will take it away - and the Python does that very well.

FD have said the Python was nerfed slightly that some may not notice? I definitely notice! Not nearly as manoeuvrable and harder to get away from a fight. With the shield cell nerf, I have to be EXTRA careful because slight damage costs a lot of dough. 77% hull, and my repairs cost more than all the combat bonds I had.

I am anticipating to see what the Fer-de-Lance has in store.

I have to say that you are clearly missing the fun of the big ships. Python's are nice even though they were nerfed. They are good in a fight and in a skilled hand they are deadly.

I have to say the Super Cow (T9) handles like a small planet circling around a sun. As for the Clipper I have to say that they are actually nice to fly and they are pretty strong in a fight. As they are more widely used for cargo most people do not use the class A7 shield as they cost so much and by the time you can afford them you would have the cash for the python. They are just as quick in combat as the Asp once A rated, but they do feel under powered when it comes to weapons.

I have a fully loaded A rated Asp and it punches well above its class. The Asp, in my opinion, is the best ship in game due to its versatile aspects. Its a hauler, explorer, fighter, and in the right hands, a mobile Tank.

haha...I know why- it's the same reason I stayed away from pythons.... but as i said, I'm not a pirate...don't want to be a pirate...don't like getting pirated. So I WANTED to be pirated or attacked in the python and i never was. Fighting NPCs is no fun, and I can destroy any NPC in my Asp anyway...but real people don't interdict Pythons and I found that even just entering a system causes all real people I see to vanish. It's no fun being the baddest dog in a system...even when I'm really not.

So you want to be attacked by players who feel like they could pirate you, and do not wish to pirate others?

Fair enough. Outside of gaining a large bounty, by and large no one interdicts anyone anyways. If you are not totally defenceless, pirates leave you alone, same with the murderers.

I get interdicted often by players in my Asp. I don't die often though. I just love turning around and blowing up clippers etc.. to smithereens. Sure I run sometimes, but not usually. I used to hate being interdicted but I kind of like it now. Maybe I'll run into the mythical "nice, polite" pirate someday....hasn't happened yet, so I'm happy to blast them.

why not bring the asp up to pand bring a full hold of non lethal weapons and personal weapons and run some donation missions for purple central industries, and do some trading and exploration
