Yembo Communtiy Goal Finished.

Hello commanders

Just to clarify: the global rewards for completing community challenges will be a little delayed, but they will appear.

Also, we would very much like to increase the variety of rewards for community challenges in the future - it's in the big list.

Hi Sandro,

I've completed the community goal for Tanmark and I think I was in first position with close to 50,000 tonnes delivered.

Do I get any kind of special reward?

Allied with all factions at Tanmark and Kappa for helping save their lives from the Federation?

Unlimited cap on allocation of rares at Tanmark and Kappa (especially as they want to spread the clones)?

Maybe you could fix my rep which has been bust since Gama (after we were told that the punishment for scan had been fixed, and since has resulted in my being hostile with every single federation system and getting attacked on sight by security and even clean traders, even with no cargo and a clean status).

I look forward to your response.

Yours sincerely,

Commander Ben Ryder

The station build goal reached it's timeline. However the combat zone goal was completed by the community before the deadline came. We all reached Tier 8 and gained an even bigger global reward as a result (way to go team!)

No, Banki was stopped at tier 6.

Tanmark was stopped at Tier 3.

Community goals were widely viewed by many as just un-needed "fluff" - maybe FD will look back and realise this isnt the way to go, leave the new station in the game since some people did take part and go down another route that will add some fun content? It was a beta afterall. Heres hoping :D

Sorry didnt see, but was there any information popping up at the finish? The lack of info hitting the player is why i skip these things. As i said before i checked galnet when war raged outside a station and no info about whats going on. Doing the community goal and not have a neat info text coming your way is a tad sad. Wish certain bits of info could hit our ships comms tbh. Especially when you are close by to the station/system sending the message.

Anyway, congrats to you who participated. Seems you will get your rewards although delayed. And i hope we also get more events like these, and that they have impact on factions, and that they eventually are coded in to work by themselves instead of having to be manually started. If all events has to be manually started then the game will be completely hollow when FD moves on. I can play as long as a game is fun. I dont care that it has aged a bit.

I like most moved out of yembo as nowt seemed to be happening and i didnt want to wait. so restored my asp to its previous state at a cost of about 3m so no 5% discount for me and i dont see how i would now get it. never mind, live and learn

I'd just like to see the station being constructed. Feels like an empty achievement without that.

This. I didnt take part in the task, but I did head over to Jembo and HP 101110 to see if I could see a station under construction, but alas nothing.

Galnet News says this -

Thanks to the combined efforts of entrepreneurs, small business owners and corporate sponsors, preparations for the launch of the new EAUC Exploration Ocellus are now well underway. 4871 commanders contributed over 8154177 tons of metal to the project, which in turn has allowed the EAUC coalition to outfit the station to a level far beyond their original specifications.

Universal Cartographics has released a statement thanking the committee members who wisely chose the mineral rich system of HIP 101110 as the potential launch site, as well as to Zimm_Macugz for organising the delivery of an impressive 150000 tonnes of raw materials.

The new station is expected to be ready for its maiden voyage to HIP 101110 within the next few days.

Being that its 'under construction' and will be 'ready for its maiden voyage to HP 101110 within the next few days' I expected something in Jembo, but nothing.

So the station is built in a few days (?) somewhere in The Third Place™, invisible to all, then appears after a server update?

Must be thrilling for those who took part. :S

...and another thing:
There seems to be a BIG discrepancy between the community events:
Yembo Trading Event - approx. 6000 participants*, tier 3 "goal" = 5% discount
Khasiri Combat Event - approx. 7000 participants*, tier 6 "goal" = 20% discount

I was going to head over to the Khasiri Event, but it closed early. Clearly FD needs to balance these events/prizes so they are equitable for all player types (traders/combat/explorer). The requirements for the trading tiers were nuts at the lower tiers, so I'm impressed the combat event did so well.

*The participant numbers are from various posts and could very well be completely off, but as my accountant says "$1 = $100 if you check the right box!"

Sandro, thanks for the updates. You're always very positive - which is great.

I'd love to see that big list you refer to!!

granted, at the first day or two i made some decent trading money when yembo still had supply. so it was merely a mediocre trading route.

when i came back a couple of days later, the station in yembo was literally empty. no wonder with so many contributors. i though, suck it up, its for a better cause and still made some money.

by the end of the week i hauled around 15k of metals to the station and all i got was a tshi...wait.. 80k? wow. 5% station bonus that isnt even there? more wow. i would have made twice as much money doing normal trade runs.

but then i hear: 20% off for the combat folks?? on ships and modules? are you kidding me???

i guess those bounty hunters complained a bit too much that the market is so damn overpowered. thanks for that. /rant over.

You really expected to see an on-going construction ... how the station is build by components?
There is no process in ED which dynamically changes something in the galaxy ... everything has to be 'evolved' manually by FD.

Found the under construction station.

Rather disappointing really its called Under Construction and is no different from other oculus stations other than its solar panels are missing.

You can request docking, it looks exactly the same inside as any other station.

Has a commodities market, black market contacts but no repairs or bulletin board.

Very disappointing i was kinda expecting a skeleton of a station with little construction droids welding stuff together.

Really ain't worth the 250 ly journey.

Its in New Yembo (as the patch notes say). why all the resources were collected in Yembo and then magically arrived in New Yembo is beyond me, they must have star trek type transporters that sent all the stuff there and auto assembled it. Either that ot FD messed up and put it in the wrong place. very immersion breaking if you ask me.

You seem to have missed that massive engine attached to the station...that's how it got there... ;)

Soon I'm guessing we will see a stage where the engine have been disconnected and then other parts will slowly be added on to it as time goes on.

I was a bit surprised that it wasn't the Ocellus variant though...that was the point of that design after all...

So will it be getting some modules for sale? Or should I switch out my trader kit for my exploration mode in the Asp before heading out into the void?

Would be great if the station went through various stages of construction as certain landmarks in deliveries were met.
In nearby systems you could have had missions to deliver this and that to the station.
But it seems once the number reaches X they patxh the game and the station appears. Really immersive that is.

@henry... we would have got 20% if we had completed to level 8. we didnt so all we got was 5%...

Maybe...the combat event only hit tier 6 and got the 20%, so there may have been better rewards, but the trading tiers were clearly set too high. It is also not clear exactly what we get the 5% disscount on. Does the "Global Rewards" for the combat event actually say "20% off on ships and modules"? or does it say "20% off on Stations Services" as the trading event does? (yes, yes...except we got 5%...).
.
I think the combat event got the tiering right - 75% (tier 6 of 8) should be goal as internally set by the devs. Tier 7 and 8 should be the above and beyond goals when the community really does come together.
.
Traders got the short end of this test, so be it...as long as there are changes in the future...and they tell us that there have been changes made!
.
Again, because it bears repeating: the tiers represent increasingly large carrots on a stick, without seeing those bigger carrots beyond the first, the effort to push higher couldn't be justify burning out on the grind.
AND a more granular progression meter is needed. Instead of casually doing 2 more runs at the end, I might have done 6, if I thought it was going to make a difference. I couldn't tell if we need 1 million more tons or 1000.
