What comes after 1.2?

Ships are coming in 1.2 so you can be sure ship balancing will be in 1.3. Other then that i would assume more and improved community goals, possibly more ships, audio and graphic improvements, addition of wing oriented content, hopefully introduction of additional modules and weapons and hints of a alien race. I would assume the main event will be content for wings though.
 
In 1.3 i think they are bringing in a mobile device in which you can hack into the Universal Network to control how things act, like for example making the Lights change on the Letterbox, or disabling another ship. You'll also be able to hack into other ships and steal credits, and access those credits on Intergalactic ATMs. This sounds oddly like WatchDogs. - ELite:Dangerous WatchDogs DLC

Seriously hope most of the stuff above is implemented, plus:
- basic stuff like proper palpable ship damage;
- Collector drones for mining;
- Planetary Landings (not so much GTA style gameplay on the planet, but I remember the days of Privateer where planets were pretty cool);
- Different Station skins and internals;
- military superpowers with their own massive bases (still thinking about Privateer haha)
- a logical progression for mega rich commanders - building their own station and factions, and warring with one another (using NPC and CMDR controlled warships)
- Purchasable COmmand ships
- Proper Black Market - buy from the black market and sell too the black market.
- More mission types, and different types of missions involving planetary landings
- More ships
- Aliens / Alien discoveries / Storyline
- Alien attacks

Maybe that will come in 1.4 :p
 
Passenger missions. Equipment to go with passenger missions.

Also would be nice to see "Contacts" expanded to include specific people you need to buy/sell black market goods or to complete missions.
 
* A lasso so we can wrangle some asteroids into our holds - who needs fantastical technology outside of FTL drives and the ability to terraform Mars?
* Ships costing into the billions of credits - millions? Pffffttt. These puppies should be the equivalent of the every-man trying to buy a Bugatti Veyron.
* More awesome designs. I'm thinking... wedges. Lots of wedges. @.@ will that include Wedge Antilles? We can only hope. But it will still take him 10 minutes to blow up another spaceship...
* Moar shields. Shields on top of shields. Think... shield-ception. We must go deeper.
* Absolutely no alien races. Having aliens show up has never been a winning move in the genre of science-fiction. Wait...
* Graphics option for "Imagination". Turns all graphics off and replaces the game with a black screen with notepad on top.

Okay okay. I hope we do get a mission overhaul. I hope to see human models in space stations. Maybe some NPC models floating around outside the station performing repairs, etc. The ability to jump to a planet within a system instead of jumping straight to the star. Think... Star Wars hyperspace. Because everything is better in Star Wars. Wings. Wings already. We need some decent co-op and communication abilities. I'm staying positive for now regardless of my sarcasm.
 
Missions and SC love.
Automated mining that you can pillage as a pirate (seeing a ping from a mining rig whilst in SC for example!)
And you know, maybe Thargoids?

I dont know what will come in 1.3 but it NEEDS to be a few of these:

External Views
Another type of large station
Two new ships
Overhaul of the mission system to create more chained missions, more crowd sourced missions, more immersive missions and getting rid of the terrible randomised USS system
Better bounty hunting mechanics - its the only fun thing in the game but you need to be able to intercept and track people around the galaxy with clues etc
Passengers
Large starship crew
More personality in the missions screen/communications/loading bays - people to talk to, people and vehicles milling around etc - game is soulless.
Better 3d system view showing present location and other ships
Better trade information screen including historical data
Comets and rogue asteroids would be good

Nah! It is going to be something to fix all the complaints that "After 1.2 I keep getting attacked by groups of 4 ships that I cannot handle in my seriously souped up [whatever ship they have], and this is no fun anymore!".

Currently 1.1 and 1.2 are 1 month apart. I'm hoping this will continue with 1.3 and newer updates. Hence monthly major updates.
I'm hoping the official FD ED API will be in 1.3. It would EXPLODE the 3rd party tools market....
 
Please fix the broken naval progression missions. Please add more missions and USS encounter types. Please put an alien station in Sagittarius A* with unique paint jobs. Please add anomolies to the possibile results from scans of frozen and gas giant planets at random with large rewards. Low hanging fruit that will hugely help gameplay.

Less low hanging fuit - add new rewards including ehancement to systems, military grade systems, unique paint jobs or emblems. If you offer missions with the reward of 2% improved efficieny in random system, people would love doing them.

There are enhancements that would require a lot of energy and time to code and beta test, and some really low hanging fruit. I'd love to see them commit some relatively low resource-intense improvements like a few trading stations with unique items in very deep space, paint job or emblem rewards for certain accomplishments, and add anomolies to the possible results of system scans even of frozen worlds so folks will not just cherry pick out the water worlds.
