So breaking away from the boring trading I have been bumming around collecting bounties on NPC's

Last night on my way to an anarchy system I stop to refuel and there is another player there in a viper, all on his lonesome in an empty system. Any how he swings round deploys hard points ......and I am thinking yeah finally someone who is going to interdict me to collect a silly bounty and I get to have a real fight for once :)

Any hows I submit drop out and scan him and open fire before he finishes scanning.....catching him off guard. Needless to say my one D2 beam laser strips his shields down quickly and I go to town on him with the cannons, by this time he is trying to leg it!!!

I am pumped! chasing after him boosting to get within 1km and then unleashing the lead at him. He uses chaff......no problem, stop firing while it disperses and unleash the lead again, eventually, his is a gonner.....and I have not even used a shield bank cell :)

Collected 200 credits for his ass LOL!!!

Anyhow be careful who you interdict, I was looking for a chance to send someone to the star grave and you gave me the opportunity , THANKS"!

How much was your ammo re-arm?

So.....you murdered him. Do you have a 6,000 credit bounty for your 200 credit return? and what was your Bounty? confused. Oh and if you are on your own and he Chaffs, carry one firing, you will get the odd hit in. Dont do it if other ships are around. Alternatively switch target off and the gimbals will act like fixed.

LOL, not bothered about that, just enjoyed the chase. But yes probably going to cost me a couple of thousand but it was worth it :)

Come to think about it I have no bounty, which means actually he must have fired on me first hence the 200 creds I got when I killed him. Best check before I go flying into a system, incase I am mistaken.!

Thanks for the advice on getting past the chaff !

Assuming I'm reading the OP right, the other CMDR interdicted him. All bets off in that case, IMO. If you don't want trouble, mind your own business; certainly don't interdict other human players.

When you get interdicted, reduce your speed to zero to submit. You will then be pulled out of supercruise without damage to your hull.

Interdiction is a crime now. With a 200 fine, apparently :)

So basically this 'wanted' ship had a parking infraction or something and you opened fire and killed them without as much as a 'how do you do'?

That's a example of why some players just don't like PvP

Open communications, try using them, he might have wanted to just talk, seeing he obviously wasn't a high value target.

I know, more of a rush to just shoot first and ask questions later. I prefer finding out who they are and what they are up too myself, :)

Empty system is an anarchy by default. So shooting someone there will not incur a fine.

That might have been a bug. He might have gotten the 200cr fine from the interdiction. Interdicting a clean player is now illegal (I think). But in a deep space system everyone is 'clean'. (But in an anarchy system anything goes, so there should not have been a fine).

Well, he interdicted. That seems aggressive. If the other player had just wanted to talk he could have done that while both were still in SC. I'm not a fan of PvP, but I can understand the OP for dusting his D.

Kind of a noob question as well haven't really used the interdiction all that much but do you take less damage from interdicting depending on your interdiction equipment or is it all the same and it just helps you get someone easier depending on the rating E-A?
