Going Exploring

So I was making about 1.4mil an hour. But got so tedious I was doing only one hour daily...I couldn't stand it anymore so I bought a cobra, fitted it to the tune of 10mil, have enough for insurance, have a detailed scanner, advanced discovery, best fuel scoop, shields, power plant, jump drive, field repair, I am going on a journey.

Any advice from explorers? Not that I think I'll actually FIND anything by exploring, since there is nothing to find. I think of exploring more as surveying, since there is nothing to find. There's no unusual USS to find or other content, and don't count black holes...they are just eye candy.

Exploring should be about finding something else entirely out there like.....a remote outpost or long lost colony or even a far off set of colonies thriving.

Strip all the A rated kit you have out for D grade except your FSD and scoop

EDIT: you might want to fit some heat sinks too, in case you end up too close to a star

In a universe of 400 billion suns, finding anything except suns is such a low probability event it beggars the imagination.

Tell you what: why don't you go find Kerbal? It may be out there. The only way to be sure is to look everywhere. Think how famous you'll be if you find it!!!!

anyway not to lose lock on the destination or to re-input it it without having to go to galaxy map when you decide to lock on a planet to scan it?

You should be able to rejoin your route by looking for the icon next to the system in the contacts list. It looks like a jagged path
