Its damning yes, the Galnet News is not to be trusted anymore. That is why the GoonNetNews is the sort of information you need to keep watching.
Edit: We were basically being tossed into a gathering resources, while yes it was at a profit, none of it went to the construction of the Station and its traders never once got to see its construction what so ever. The Yembo system had it all built and toss the minerals to the Federation's two fronts! What you believe to be a 'profit' was actually a small marginal profit compared to what the Yembo system made in comparison. The people in that were victims of an elaborate Pyramid Scheme.

_Communication is key to get events going nicely for everyone.
_Setting ANYTHING as far or farther than 100K Ls is NOT fun for players, especially since you can't jump from star to star in system.
_Having two identical community goal (not competing for faction dominance) that cancel each other when the goal is reached and one of them is completely unbalanced doesn't make for a good experience for the guys in the bad side (that didn't know of the other one because of the lack of communication about that fact)
_Setting the ultimate goal to be more or less unreachable (I'm looking at you Yembo) doesn't motivate troops

Hey pal you must know them rofl, I bet you have them bookmarked at least, along with the TS addresses (I mean TheSpaceTexan now has your sig & you don't, that's kinda strange if you never met?), I guessed you were buddies when you made the "grind in open then break into solo for a while" comment, can't remember it exactly but it involved the word "tears" amongst the laughs between you both.
If you are one of these goon people (never played EVE or any other game they played so I have no preformed opinion) then just say so, your attempt at PR so far is not up to the level I saw in the PR video or two I watched, or the thread on helping the poor pilots (yes I followed it with interest, I was busy though doing my thing, but fair play on the "hearts & minds" job).
I read a post saying you are distant cousins to the Eve goons twice removed, a very distant relation, I am really not bothered if you are twins, as long as the galaxy doesn't shrink several billion sizes & we all retain the ability to avoid blockades by choosing the mode we wish to play in then I see no problem.
I played another space game for ~ 3 years, there was pve but pvp was the goal, often with large battles, I liked it enough to play for ~ 3 years & pay for a cheap mumble server for my wing, I have many happy memory's, it wasn't EVE scale but nor is ED in that way.
With the 32 person instancing & P2P I don't see how any group can control an area of space, actually I think it is possible (but only with a specific change to the game) enough people could if they had players from different times zones & lots of them, camp all the rares places, that would only work if people could not play in Solo or Groups, Mmmm I guess 2+2 = 4.
I am so glad the Devs have recently stated that they do not intend to change the way it works, Open would be a few clans camping the rares and everyone else in Solo or Mobius.

I doubt 32 can dominate anything, 32 was made with love, 32 was designed to ensure domination was not possible, 32 smiles upon us.

Well, I am in the New Yembo system right now, docked at this beauty here:
Looking forward to watching it grow over the following weeks. This is stage one of the construction phase. The station has been jumped into system and moved to its orbit. When the scaffolding for the modules arrives, the giant FSD drive will be detached and construction will commence. For now, just the docking module with the commodity market, contacts and cartographics section is up and running. Repair facilities, shipyard and bulletin boards will be added at later stages.
The system is full of ringed planets with dozens of RES points, so I'm gonna be busy hunting pirates until then.
I'm assuming you are referring to the player limit? or you just really like the number?
I was referring to the P2P limit originally, but now you have made me think about it yes I think 32 is my favourite number and I thank FD & you for helping me realise it
, I think its been my favourite since pre Gamma I just didn't know it.What a great concept, limits server & bandwidth costs so the money can be spent on development and the longevity of the game, avoiding players blockading areas of space or station camping, even in open to an extent, I think its a fantastic way to go for a game that is meant to be mainly PVE or PPPVE and where PVP is meant to be rare and meaningful, a stroke of genius.
