Don't you think rampant cheating is everyone's concern, no matter what you think about this particular community goal

Exactly, if cheating, it needs to be stamped-on pronto. No point in having community goals otherwise, who would want to take part?

Do we actually know the intervals at which the board updates?

If it only updates every 24 hours or something then these conclusions don't hold up.

Cheat Alert: 204k delivered to Furbaide within an hour?

Those players may well have stumbled upon a bug and ticketed it, in which case they are not cheaters.
Of course, they could also be exploiting it, or using a cheat to actually do it. Truth is, nobody at this point knows so to call them 'cheaters' is a little unfair IMO.

Quineloe, your leaping from conclusion to conclusion with no proof (a single screenshot isn't proof), chill out and report it.

hes got more proof than you'd actually need to investigate, how blatantly obvious do you want cheating to be before it gets investigated? I put in like 15 tickets a day about people quitting mid combat etc one mores just going to go in the shredder above the bin. At least here it might get some attention and the rapid fix it requires (investigation then exoneration or permanent ban)

Oh don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's not suspicious, I'd definitely investigate based on what I've seen but that's not proof (yet).

Also, at the risk of getting banned, if you want to get their attention I'd recommend their social media platforms rather then the forums. Reputation counts for business

Always worth remembering in these things that the person involved may be the unwitting beneficiary of a bug, however unlikely that is - though is it really unlikely with FD's QA as shown so far?

Do community goals not exist in solo? Presume they don't, cos if they did solo players would be similarly affected by this.
They exist and the economy changes for everybody ... if someone found a way to load 200000t in his capital ship affects everybody...

until they fix the client side issues with (ahem cheating) this is always going to be an issue.

Though it shouldnt be too hard to correct server side every 24hrs etc

Now that you showed screenshots looks like they are definitely cheating. Well at least they created the perfect tool to detect such people.

Seems very suspicious but not exactly proof at this stage.

If your participating I'd say keep going for now. Ticket it and post in bugs, fingers crossed stats will be.... corrected.

Uh... where's my calculator?

200,000T

Let's see, max cargo any one ship can hold ... 500T

200k/500=400

400 delivered shiploads in one hour???

Yeah - where's the darn proof?

Because this game making mistakes with numbers is completely unheard of...

I'm not saying it's not very suspicious, I agree whole heartedly. What I am saying is all we have is supposition at this stage and going off the handle here is going to end in one thing. A load of forum users getting banned. Given that I respect the opinion of some of the users getting heated about this I'm trying to be diplomatic. Raise the report, add the screenshots, DONT risk you account due to hasty comments.

Google Ocaam's razor.

If it ain't a sploit, then it's a bug you can drive an L9 through.

The lack of any quality control in this environment just continues to amaze...

Regardless if someone's cheating or the mechanics aren't working properly, this is just another in the continuing string of embarrassments being made daily by FD.

I truly wish it were not so...

There is an exploit that will allow this. It isn't fixed, and I'd hope that FD will be quietly investigating- to find the truth rather than a lynch mob. The numbers look crazy, but I assume FD's logs will let them see if this (quite long-standing) vulnerability was being used here. Until then, I support it's best not to jump to conclusions.

(..and yes, thus sort of thing really puts me off the whole idea of "community goals". I far prefer playing the game solo right now, it's far too exploitable.)
