Shields are rubbish in the game. My A grades on the Type 9 (standard size) cost 16m and last maybe 10 seconds against a Viper, a 100k buzz fighter.

I play about 2-2.5 hours a night, 5 or 6 hours on the weekends, and have been doing so almost religiously since the day the game went live, and I own a decked out viper, and base model T6, and I have about 6 million in the bank. How the HELL have you done this?

I play much less than you and my assets are almost 40m . Trading pays off! I am expert, broker and scout....

So if you play 8 hours per day, trading moslty, having 500m is not impossible.

Having fun is a drawback if you want to make a fortune

I use A5 shields on a Type 9, only managed to lose half the outer ring when boosting into the fence. Granted the thing only goes 204 m/s max.
It makes me lazy when docking. Scrape along the floor to stop, or slam down hard on the pad. I'm not trading fine china anyway.

The type 9 is horrible for manoeuvring, can't wait to trade it in for an Anaconda. A little bit less cargo, but my 3 jump trade route will turn into 1 jump.
I do like the big fuel tank on the type 9. Every 4th circuit on the low paying return trip, temporarily equip a 6A fuel scoop and recoup 250k of fuel in a minute.
