Stuck Cargo Bug again

Just been hit by the stuck cargo bug - it wasn't connected to a mission - it was just cargo that i tried to sell on a black market (it was Tanach Spice)
the transaction seemed to work - although i didn't pay attention to the Credit balance so can't be sure if i got paid

the spice is still in my hold and won't go away - i have tried to sell it at places that would trade it normally - at other black markets - tried to discard it at a station and to jettison it when in space
in all cases it looks like it is going to work - but the cargo never actually goes away from my hold and i don't get paid fro trying to sell it either

even worse - one of my jettison attempts was too close to a station so i got fined - and even though i immediately landed and paid off my fines - the fine is still listed as outstanding

so at the moment i seem to have a permanent fine for trying to jettison some imaginary cargo that is still taking up space in my hold - AAARGGH (sorry about that but it is very annoying)
even if i choose to self destruct as a way to remove the cargo what will happen to the fine?

i have opened a support ticket but not had any response yet - has anyone had a similar issue fixed by the support team? or am i doomed?

I think your choices are:

1) Wait. Perhaps for a very long time - I would not advise that
2) Live with it until it gets sorted
3) kill your ship. Of course that may depend on how big it is, etc. If it is small, so the insurance is tiny, just kill it (but strip it down first, and downgrade all the components that you can, to minimise the loss). If it is bigger then it is a more complicated choice, I guess. You could ignore wear and tear and damage until the repait cost is close to the rebuy cost anyway, and then do it.

Kill your ship. I had to do it once with a Clipper. Wasted 2 hours of grinding, but it's always better than wasting an eternity on waiting for a response. I ticketed it, updated it, but never got an answer.

good point about downgrading to reduce insurance - thanks for that - it's only a cobra, but it has lots of extra's at the moment
i will go and sell my "real cargo" then think about strippin the ship and playing with the big red button
