Prox mines

Have been trading out of the Anlave system over the last few day's. On my last few trips I have noticed prox mines scattered 10km from Hogg City.

Do mines never despawn? my point defense goes crazy every time I pass through a field of them. What sort of damage would be done to my Conda if I got close to one?

Cheers

If they are the same type that haulers / adders fire out when you shoot at them at the NAV beacon then I would say the damage would be minimal. However, I don't know if there are bigger classes of them available that may do more damage.

Am still in the area, the mines just read 'PROXY MINE' I think the game only has one type. I'm now 30km from the station and still see plenty of mines everywhere. Very strange

Looks like someone is dumping them every time they dock, or trying to create a minefield outside the station and you're unlucky enough to be in their instance. I find proxy mines to be so useless I literally ignore every one. In combat zones there's always dozens of them everywhere and they just bounce off my shields doing less damage than my capacitors can cover, every time. I don't hang around if my shields drop either, so still no worries there. They're easy to avoid and have minimal impact even in large numbers, not much of a concern really.

These mines are here everytime I come back to the system, hence why I posted. I would have thought stuff like this 'despawns' over time, or at the least I would drop into another instance.

Just watched a youtube vid, they do as much damage as a firecracker :)
