I was zapped last night by a certain CMDR, who shall remain nameless. He and I were in the same RES and were 'peacefully' minding our own business blasting bad guys. As I rolled in on a target
he lined up behind me and let me have it. I was in a tight fix, out of MC ammo and shield cells, hull at 61%. I panicked, smashing controls at random, finally got into super-cruise, figured I had escaped.
He banged out right behind me and interdicted me. It was amazing how quickly he was on me. I'd never even considered that tactic before. He must have hit SC as soon as he got the message that I was
banging out. It was over in seconds.
The point of reliving this horrific event is that I learned a lot from the encounter. Yes it cost me a couple hundred thousand but good lessons never come cheap. I learned that one of my favorite tactics
against a NPC was useless against a CMDR. I spent the rest of the evening running the encounter over in my head and have a few ideas. So, the upshot of all this is that, perhaps, I am a better pilot now
than I was before.
And to you, CMDR Nameless, we shall meet again.
