Piracy Problems

Ok, I hear people complaining about how tough it is to make a living as a pirate. What?! Sorry if it's too difficult to steal merchandise from hard-working merchants to quickly take and cash in. That's too bad. All I know is I have been interdicted on average every 3-4 jumps into a system. It's so common, I've started to simply give in, submit and give them a few tons of carge (high-dollar, by the way!) in order to be on my way. It is taking nearly ALL the fun out of this game. I can understand being interdicted once every couple of hours, but ever 30-45 minutes? Or at a minimum once an hour? And this is in "federation" or "imperial" space! No security forces? Really? I've never been assisted once by anyone (PC or NPC). What in the world is the intent of this game? Infinate freedom? More like Infinite Anarchy!

Oh, and if you're a Pirate I've run into (or will)... please don't expect me to call you "sir" or say "Thank you may I have another"! Don't be surprised if I tell you off in a rather dignified manner. Of all the nerve!

"hard-working merchant"? Please. Trading is one of the easiest and safest professions in the game. Pirates have to work so much harder to get their money than you do, and get a lot less for it as well.

That would annoy me as well which is why I'm in a PVE group. It's annoying enough with the increased NPC interdictions. I couldn't imagine throwing player interdictions on top of that.

Noo you don't need to go into cheat mode, if you're not set up for a fight then just keep to the safer systems in the full game. or get some hired guns :)

Just move route :/ move 100ly from the core trading area and you'll never see a player again.

Where are you? I have NEVER been pirated (im a broker), but im looking for a place, where i can surprise commander pirates with the mighty "Battle Cow"!

What sector are you in? I'e been hunting around the core sectors and more than 100ly out.....I rarely see players in anything other than cobras, aps or vipers....not in SC anyway.

Every time I come into dock I see T 7,6, and 9s plus haulers and adders....some unshielded! I never see them in SC though.
Next time you get pirated maybe try asking the pirate to give you escort instead...for payment of course.

Cheat mode. Very funny :p

Actually I turn the NPCs that interdict me into shredded cheese :)

another thing that I swear just made a pirates life harder - they've increased the damage from interdiction, win or lose.

I hope I can find the noble battle cow sometime so I can show how bad the T9 really is, then we can both come back to the forums to convince FD to buff the T9!

yes, tell all pirates where are you flying. I see them queuing to rob you, gangbang, 6 per run at least, but it will be more, dont worry.

As you are probably one of the last traders in open you have responsibility to satisfy hundreds of those fine lads, hope they wash before they "visit" you. Be brave.

Didn't we just meet? You weren't too happy at paying the fee were you?

but a beam up the bum helped you along ;)

I would look at your interdiction avoidance technique. maybe there is room for improvement there.

Are you talking about PvP interdictions here? In that case this is quite a lot. Maybe you are trading in an area frequented by some pirate group that have you marked as an easy prey. In that case moving to a different sector for a while might be in order, or try to get some vigilantes and PvP bounty hunters involved for some protection.

That's pretty much how it's supposed to work - you give pirate a bit of your cargo and leave alive. Simples. :)

You can move. The pirate has to follow you and has to be good at stealing, while you need to have a pilot's license :p. Plus, it's just a game, and piracy is FUN. If you're taking it into reality and calling pilot players scum, you should take a break. Amassing credits isn't the point of the game.

Mayhaps a change in location would help, personally I don't see that many interdictions in my regular turf, and almost all the pirates I see were NPCs. I've never surrendered cargo (aside from one time on my 1st day to a NPC pirate, I thought I had a empty cargo hold when I left the port, but I must have left 1 item in my hold.

I did see some action when there was a civil war (shot down X3 times with full cargo holds.... lost about 3 million in one night) but one of the people murdering me helpfully recommended I leave the system 'till the war dies down, unless I wanted to be stuck in a sidewinder. I took him at his word and booked it.... to the next system over where there was no action what soever. I adjusted my trade route for a week and now they are all gone and I can haul cargo in peace. (although mayhaps I will try to sell less non-leathal weapons, as it MAY cave contributed to my death in the 1st place...)

Can't tell you where I am of course, pirates would follow you:p
