Heh, avoiding combat will be fine in the PU, after all I'm much more a trader / explorer in ED myself (Mostly Harmless, Merchant, Pathfinder). However, to complain about combat in a combat test module (albeit with a bit of racing) is silly!
@helfix
I don't think you are necessarily wrong but those paying more feel more entitled generally speaking and it is surely in CIGs financial interest to keep the current model. Why pay more if you don't have to would be most people's response IMO
Yes it is a very cool looking ship, so far that's two ships of CIG's that I like.
You can also tell that CIG place more value on the cost of a ship than the skill required to use it. Initially the Superhornet has a pledge tag of $165 and the Xi'an Scout had a pledge tag of $150. With a mere $15 being the difference between the two you can bet that they will still go out of their way to make the Xi'an inferior at a level greater than a mere $15.

What was your first favorite ship?
Unladen. The Orion’s mass will significantly increase when carrying ore. Additionally, please note that mass data for large ships are currently inaccurate in comparison to smaller craft. The Orion’s mass represents our first attempt at a more scientific method for determining mass which will be applied to all large spacecrafts upon review by the design team.
Interesting that this sale is for 2 weeks, not the one week that CIG had set up as the length for concept sales.
The Reclaimer.
Too many of CIG's ships are just air plains in space, with extra bits added in order to get blown off. Or badly designed ships with fake aerodynamics as an excuse for poor design (Mustang with an air break, lol). They just lacked imagination, and artistic style, very bland ships, that do not look like they belong in space.
The Reclaimer and now the Orion look like real ships, designed to do a job. Although I could do with out rotating (arms) on the Orion, we already know all the ships have gravity so that part is pointless, but still very cool looking.
Edit:
Nice little comment from CIG.
So looks like they are going to fix some of the ships being made out of Styrofoam.

Looking at the detail on it, I bet it took a good while to put that together. Just from a modelling point of view, it is impressive. Looking forward now to seeing some larger capital ships.
In what universe is March 2nd two weeks away?
Mother of god....the Orion has been released. And it's beautiful...

I like that there are many layers in the process. I'm more interested in the information handling part of it but for those who look forward to mining some space rocks (I know, they're not rocks, they are minerals!) it might end up being a decent and not mind-numbingly-boring occupation.
We can safely say that this occupation won't be boring but thrilling drilling.
Maybe people will realize that mining in some other games is shallow and dull in comparison, who knows.
Yeah most things in SC sound great on paper... let's just see how they are implemented though first.
Dogfighting and flying around sounded great, but both are not fun at all for me in the way they are implemented in AC.
