The Federation would have you believe that they were the aggrieved party in the recent, widely reported, altercation between our two powers.

We are aware of Federation propaganda in the form of a widely circulated 'combat video' which has been cunningly contrived to make the Empire appear as the aggressor. The truth, naturally, is somewhat different.

By carefully reconstructing events we are now able to present the true nature of the conflict. Needless to say, a different tale emerges; one of callous treachery and underhanded machinations.

Obviously we expect little else from the Federation.

The forgiving, understanding and equal citizens of the Alliance wish to point out that this so-called proof that Senator Drew Wagar is proposing as "the truth" is presented using the age-old methods of every historical propaganda machine that has ever existed. By moving original video feed out of sequence and using dramatic music to appeal to people's emotions while feeding them with false information of this being a representation of the personal fight of an unnamed citizen of the Empire, Drew Wagar and his staff are falsifying the truth.

The postmodern citizens of the Alliance wish to, however, also make it clear that the original video feed provided by the Federation was no better in this regard, as evinced by their attempt to personify the story through the eyes of four fighter pilots who respond to a call for help.

Clearly, these two superpowers are engaged in a propaganda war and are both spouting false information at each other, in a vain attempt to justify their actions.

However, it is not the wish of the magnanimous members of the Alliance to blame the individuals behind these stories. Clearly, it is the world views instilled upon people like Drew Wagar from their very birth that makes them interpret the world in a particular way and they are powerless at its mercy.

They deserve our pity, not our hatred.

So say we all!

I can only concur from our own investigations by an independent select committee (based on Imperial Prime :D) that Senator Wagar has indeed bought the truth home to the galaxy in the recent UPDATED version of events in the "combat clip"

It has been noted the deep desperation the Federation will go to in making these misinformation propaganda clips, and really how they would not be out of place being shown on pulp fiction shows such as "You've-Been-Framed!"

Whilst other misinformers such as the likes of the Alliance renegade Susimetsa love to show themselves as above all things trivial, its usually a sign of Faction envy in that "theirs is small, whilst ours are BIG!" :eek:

We at Imperial intelligence would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Senator Drew on a fine display of Honorable conduct in this whole affair, it has been duly noted and an Estate and slaves will according be gifted to you as by the orders of the Emperor himself.

I live in hope for the day when all the Empire supporters realise the errors of their factually inaccurate and insulting opinions just moments before their ship explodes after some clever dogfighting from my good self bringing the righteous message to the unwashed masses.

Heh, very nice :) I've been thinking of writing a short story background to the battle, but coming up with a satisfactory ending is tricky :-/

I could have done with a bigger explosion on the federation ship, but I don't have adobe after effects or similar...
