Ascension into Alpha level - thanks to a forum member

Liqua that was very generous of you, and because of that, should I get you in the cross hairs I will say sorry as I pull the trigger and your ships vaporizes.

It is the least I can do :) If wasn't for that act of kindness the words sorry would be omitted. Please no need to thank me, it was your kindness that sparked that word from me. If it happens to be you vaporizing my ship that would just be rude and unacceptable as well as anti social behavior. Wait this is Liqua I think that would be a compliment........... :)

But I feel that such generosity (if that is what it is) should be served with anonymity.

No ulterior motive other than it's Xmas .. cheer up lad - It's been 1 year since the launch of the KS campaign, we're all knackered, and I am simply spreading some love about the forum - Can't do everyone, which is a shame, as a lot of you are really deserving ... so chin up - Alpha / Beta almost here - couple more people to speak to then I am done for the year.

Anonymous - perhaps - but hard to uplift someone though if you don't know their current level and FD can't tell you (or I imagine they can't - confidentiality and all that jazz) ... the alternative is to just donate X amount to someone and whilst life is great here in the UAE if I am precise I can help more. If people do post a thank you thread why do I care - we're never going to meet in real life, and if we do it will only be for a couple of hours at the launch party and that's it.

Remember on the Internet we're all anonymous, until we're caught ;)

It seems to me that John Stabler in also received a donation to raise up to the Alpha.. He said he did not know who made the donation. Congratulations Susimetsa to reach the Alpha. We count on you to provide information to us the time comes (Screenshots, videos ...). Liqua is a great man. We know he has a lot invested in ED. And his wife also. He participates fully in the forums also. All donators are part of the Elite family. And the wealthiest, deserve our highest greatest sympathy.

That is a really nice thing to do for someone. Well done Liqua!

Now that's another person to shoot at once we get multiplayer :D

Have good fun Susimetsa!

That is extremely kind of Liqua.

I was also very grateful from a kickstarter backer who has invited me to attend the official launch party. Such a kind gesture.

There must be a few +1s out there going... I can imagine the conversation "you spent £750 to go to a party... For a nerdy computer game? And you want me to go with you?!" ;)

We (wife and I) had 4 tickets - gave 2 away some months back to Jonty and a friend.

I would like to shake your hand at the party as well Oddball .. during the KS you kept the spirit and helped a lot of floundering people out .. Woof :)

Nice work Liqua... I stopped being a mercenary a couple of years ago (well, that's what some of my permie colleagues in the IT Industry called me) so I'm no longer in the (extremely) happy position you're in, but good on you for spreading some happiness. :)

I would have loved to go to the party but really wasn't sure about going... In the end the dithering solved the conundrum for me. I have a thing about social occasions due to my hearing, but that's my problem and no-one else's

To paraphrase the fake Oddball 'Let's all dig how beautiful it is out here. It's beautiful to hear someone say something righteous and hopeful for a change' :)

PS - Poor Dog impression.... Arf arf arf (that's his other dog impression). :D

That's very kind of you Liqua to say that. In some ways I miss the kickstarter and the characters there and I like to think I helped things along the best way I knew how. However, there were many others who had only positives things to say which kept the dream alive. Lars 'The Kickstarter King' was one such character who spent most of his time in that forum. We owe him and others like him a big thank you for their time.

[EDIT]
@MikeSnos... woof woof!

Well done that man. There are indeed a few souls in this forum that I think have a good way of presenting their thoughts, rationally and logically. I don't always agree with what they are saying, but their voice and opinion often evokes much debate and discussion often with Frontier staff joining in, that regardless of my personal views, the information flowing to us has been increased. The Newtonian thread for example, there is a lot of posts that aren't really of any use as such, but there are many good ideas, suggestions and solid information.

If I had the power to raise a few of these voices up... but alas I don't.. :( If I win the lottery.. perhaps... ;)

That's a really cool thing to do! Kind of restores your faith in humanity. I think I have something in my eye..... ;)
