i hope we'll find specific apps for Elite dangerous in Overwolf appstore in the futur : )

for now I use the notepad (as a logbook, or to take notes), the WebBrowser (very useful to not have to switch back to windows ) , the music player, and the spotify. : )

That's a bit good. For a minute I thought you'd holed ED's (skins) income stream below the waterline, I never heard of Overwolf before. Relieved to find you didn't though so please consider yourself + repped.

Which apps are included in your skin?

I discovered "Overwolf" myself a few days ago, and until right now I find it really useful even if some apps are not compatible with Elite for now (like the video capture tool).
The skin doesn't include any apps, this is only a skin base for "overwolf", you choose which Apps you want to include into the dock with the Overwolf appstore (these are free apps) : )

In the Video preview i've posted the Apps are: the notepad,the WebBrowser, the Music player, a clock, and a tool for teamspeak.

It might be great to have a tool like "Slopey" in the "overwolf" apps...

I've quickly made a video to show some exemples, (the texts in the video are in french/English ):

Just a quick update.

I installed it last night, but I haven't had time to test it because I had to instruct two of my friends who just started playing. On the other hand, I now have enough friends in the game to form a wing :D

I've been using your skin for the past few hours and it works great. It fits the UI perfectly.

I'm having small issues with some of the apps, but that isn't related to your work.

yes, some apps are not compatible for now : /, I hope this will change in the futur because i think this little software can be very useful for ED players.

arf : / i didn't have any problem with mine(avast), even if you try to launch the install with admin right it doesn't work ?

Nope. Panda ups and deletes the sucker when I try in either mode. I'll try and figure out a way around it later. It looks like a useful program to have on hand for ED

Nice. I dabbled with it before because of the browser but it felt a bit out of place. Thanks to your skin I will give it another go. Looks great :)

I loaded it, got it to work, but there was a problem for me - I couldn't click on my game menu while it was active (even though I could highlight the game menu fine), and I couldn't make the overwolf inactive.

Basically it was too glitchy to work for me, but I love the concept and look and know it will work on others

concerning the WebBrowser it works fine for simple things, i've just notice some issues for exemple it can be a little slow from time to time. or I can't see the youtube videos posted on the forum.

I'm not sure to really understand your problem, so I hope I won't get it wrong:
to use Overwolf ingame, you have to press "SHIFT+F1", (personnally I changed the shortcut by"²", easier to use ) but when you use Overwolf you can't use the game controls/menus in the same time., you have to press "SHIFT+f1" one more time to take the control of the game again.

I hope this will help you : )

Hello everybody : )

the Skins system has changed with the last version of Overwolf.

so, for those who want, I've made a new pack of hte EDskin i've created :

to install it (not very simple for now : /) :

- go to the appstore of overwolf and install one of the proposed Skins.
- then go into that skin folder (you'll have to search a bit ) :
C:\Users\"user_name"\AppData\Local\Overwolf\Extensions\"folder_of_the_installed_skins"

and replace the 1.0.0.0 (or 1.0.0.1) folder by the one in the Overwolf_EDSkin_v1.1.rar file.

reboot overwolf, now you should have this in your skin choice menu :

choose the skin and that's it : )

I'll work on the sounds etc.. later : )

OK the skin is Awesome!

However, loading instructions are not working as on next launch, my Overwolf is overwriting the skin. I found and easier way to do it.

Since you need the dev version to use the skin, here is an easy way using the built in Dev tools.


Step 1: Open Overwolf Settings and click support. Then click Development Options at the bottom of the settings.

Step 2: When the Packages Window opens, click on Load unpacked Extension

Step 3: Select the folder where you unpacked the skin

Step 4: When it appears in the Package window, click Launch.

Now for a Suggestion? Can we get a button to see the Galnet News? SuperCruise is Boring :)
Also, it does not seem to remember the last settings I used when it comes to Horizontal or Vertical.

And if people are having issues with the music player not working because they don't have/use flash, might I suggest using VLC player and the Elite Dangerous Skin. Here is my post about it.
