Totally behind this proposal

There are lots of other stations named after actor type people.

Leonard nimoy fired my imagination and lots of others over the years and that's worthy of a few lines of script and pixels in the ED universe I think for sure.

No thanks. I liked this actor's characters on TV and movies but, he didn't really contribute anything to mankind, other than entertainment. I'm sure he was a nice guy and all but, it's not like we was Newton, Einstein, or Hawkings or any of the hundreds of thousands that deserve an honor far more than an actor. Just my opinion.

No offense but, an actor, IMO, doesn't deserve a place in ED.

I challenge you to name one person who has inspired more space scientists than Leonard Nimoy.

So we should remove George Lucas and Ridley Scott stations as they were in the 'acting/entertainment' arena and offered nothing to mankind?

You mean, other than inspiring several generations of young scientists and engineers?

But George Lucas and Ridley Scott do?

Nimoy was an actor AND a director, a poet and a humanitarian. An icon in the Sci-Fi community.

Since he was also a director, there's already a precedent.
Can you provide a new argument please?

Edit: also, damn these ninjas!

I'd saying inspiring people through his roles as an actor is pretty significant.

Science (and sci-fi) enthusiasts worldwide will disagree with you.

Carl Sagan obviously. Leonard Nimoy played a well known character but he was no scientist & only a so-so actor. It would be a complete travesty to name the first community station after him just because his death happened to coincide with the poll. Spock would argue against such an unscientific approach...
