It's only a preference, but I always preferred the change in name to 'Frontier'. Just sounded so awesome and unique to me.

Some people have taken a dislike to the name but for me as Izzy said, it isn't important I just want to play Elite again. I don't think they will change the name (or even could have) once the name was out there on social media and in magazines it would be confusing and detrimental to change the name.
Agree, changing name now is not good idea, it's too late. For everyone, Elite 4 is Elite: Dangerous
Especially do not change the name of Elite Dangerous. It is very good. This is our Elite Dangerous for all

I must admit, when I heard the game was gonna be called Elite "Dangerous", I thought it sounded a bit naff. Elite: "Deadly" yes, OK.
I may have dreamt this but wasn't there something that David Braben hinted at in one of the early videos, in that reaching Dangerous status would have some special meaning in the new game? I may have read too much into what was said...

Don't mention the "Newtonians". I did it once but I think I got away with it.
What I want to know is why the good people from Newtonia, Newton County, Missouri, United States are causing so much issues with people here?

That's interesting, I never really got into the second and third game and only stuck with the first and I have always thought the name Elite sounded awesome all by itself
Then I also thought the status of Dangerous sounded awesome as well
(I actually thought it sounded cooler than Deadly.
Perhaps because it's used to describe Maverick from Top-Gun which was released in the same year I got the first Elite game.)
Now they have added them both together
I just wanted to know why :S

I was going to started another thread to ask this question, but is Elite -Dangerous going to be the direct and proper sequel to the first game of Elite completely disregarding the second and third games or are they going to be considered to be the fore-runners of Elite - Dangerous and have further influence of it's galaxy :S
And what time line is this going to be set :S

This game follows on from Frontier First Encounters in the timeline as far as I'm aware.

If I hadn't won the mission in the standard 90 minutes, I'd expect at least 6 minutes overtime...
