The Majestic class interdictor Imperial capital ship is weak

Hello, I was browsing some other forum when I fell onto this video:

A single Viper was able to take down every heat relay on the Majestic class interdictor in just a few minutes and without losing one full shield ring...
This shouldn't be possible, let's be honest, a Viper should be obliterated in a matter of seconds by a ship this size and with that armament.

I suggest that you do the same as you did with the Farragut and drastically buff the armament of this ship.

same as 12 lowly dive bombers sank 3 aircraft carriers at battle of midway poo poo happens and if it can happen it will happen at the inopertune moment ( sods law)

Alright, let's see a Viper do that to a Farragut then, if "poo poo" happens it shouldn't be a problem...

You just get 50 k bugs, so what... The capitals are just big shooting targets without any real interesting battle mechanics, like so many other "placeholders" ;)

Except for the fact that anyone can do it, every time, and it is really easy.
Also, it sucks. It shouldn't suck. Interdictors and battlecruisers should be beastly, and taking them down should require serious cooperation.

main problem of the imperial battleships is, that the main beams just do never hit properly. they always cross beams behind or in front of the target!
the gun turrets of the faragut in contrast hit very very good and deadly

It annoys me that small ships seem to be able to take several hits from the main batteries. No way should this be the case. On hit = a cloud of cooling vapour imnvho.

Looks like Frontier totally forgot to buff the Interdictor compared to the Farragut.

Figures. Why am I not surprised?

If anything, it's a good thing that this is possible. Agility is a factor in combat; if it wasn't, you'd just end up with boring MMO-style combat where it's just about whose number is bigger.

Yeah watch the beams on any target, they miss consistently. It's the same targeting with turreted beams you buy yourself sometimes. Even with A sensors, sometimes they just lead in front of the target for seconds at a time missing completely.

You'll find that most people on these forums want that to be the case; they want their time investment to be directly proportional to their combat performance, with no skill involved.

seems the heat sinks just have not been buffed like the ones on the faragut. there you cannot destroy them with a dual raingun blast anymore.....
and the pure amount of defensive turrets make it very dangerous around the capital ship even with chaff now.....

the majestic is very very underwhelming compared to the faragut now

Funny that you talk about agility: The Viper in the video flew at low velocity in front of the Interdictor and took 3 salvoes from the main battery of the interdictor as well as the anti-fighter battery. Didn't even reach half shields. If the Interdictor was replaced with a moderately good Cobra pilot standing still and shooting, the Viper would probably have taken more damage.

You'll find that most people on this forum believe that you'll find that most people on this forum do things that they actually don't. It's amazing how the ''majority'' constantly changes its opinions, which for some reason always seems to be what the poster doesn't like, unless the poster pulls the ''most people agree with me'' card.

Poor choice of words on my part -- I suppose I meant I've seen the same sort of 'call for change' on these forums over and over.

For example, the OP didn't notice that the guy more or less flew quite well, and hit with precision -- he didn't just fly at it like a dart at a bullseye, shooting uncontrollably. Yet the OP expects him to die all the same because 'his ship isn't big'.
