General / Off-Topic Doctor Who: 50th Anniversary

Just watched the mini-episode. I hope everybody immediately got the reference to the old stories...

The Sisterhood of Karn were in 'The Brain of Morbius', which was a sci-fi take on the Frankenstein story, from the old Tom Baker/Sarah Jane Smith days.

Yes indeed. I had a flashback to that scene in which Morbius' brain has to be picked up off the floor... pure gold

I don't suppose anyone here watched The Science of Doctor Who lecture by Brian Cox? These things are never quite what the nerds want to hear obviously, but interesting stuff nonetheless!

Very much looking forward to An Adventure In Space and Time, and of course The Day of the Doctor!

I have, I have! Now going to listen to all remixes of Dr Who main theme.

I even have a FULL size replica *CLASSIC* Tardis. ie one with all the details the new terrible one does not have. Down to a vintage 1944 Yale Lock and flat head screws. Total perfection.

Only problem it is too tall to fit inside the house ! Arrghhh 4 years in the making.

Yeah, I watched it and found it very interesting.

As an aside, my daughter has her 17th birthday on 23 nov, and she has been heard to say:
Sod having a birthday party, I'm coming to watch Dr Who!

I must say that I approve of her attitude :D

Just watched it, I enjoyed it, it was pretty much like the R I Christmas lectures I used to watch until they stopped broadcasting them a couple of years ago.

Going to see Day of the Doctor at the Cinema this Sunday with my 13 yr old daughter who loves Dr Who - Soooooo looking forward to it :D :D :D

I'll be watching it at the cinema myself. I'm a little more apprehensive about what this will be like. When all the little tykes get scared by Dr Who's monsters are they going to hide behind their cinema seats?
