WANTED???

Even though some ships are Wanted is it right to just attack Novice pilots?. Some say Harmless other say Novice and expert etc. Also if you don't use chat in open play how do you no if its a computer AI player or real person. Thanks.

Players are represented by hollow triangles and squares, NPCs are solid shapes on the radar.

Ha DOH Should have read instruction but I like to read instructions the old way with a instruction book not PDF. I like to look in game at the same time as looking at the book. :)

So I have just been playing open and shooting any wanted ship. Am I bad. lol.

OP,

Just to add to the reply from Arubeto, Triangles mean Hard Points deployed, Squares are Hard Points retracted. This applies to both AI's and Commanders.

Another big give-away is that CMDRs have 'CMDR xxxxx' as their name, whereas NPCs don't, they just have a name (usually something silly) ;)

Oooh I did not know that. +rep to you sir.
I'd often wondered why some were triangular and some square

yep.. guns out, or guns down.

OP... If I am in a combat ship.. I attack anything wanted, all the time. Bounty money! Don't forget to put a K-Warrant scanner in your fighting ship and scan with it before you kill it. You can get a LOT of extra money for bounties from other factions and systems.

You can also use the k scanner to avoid attacking targets that are wanted in your current system but are allied to a faction you don't want to lose rep with.
