Has anyone actually listened to station announcements?

"This station has a safe and peaceful environment."

Unless of course:
You have a bounty on you.
You loiter too long near a pad.
You loiter too long near the mail slot.
You take too long docking.
You take too long exiting.
You try to enter the station without clearance.

Well, if that's safe and peaceful, I'd hate to see what an unsafe and aggressive station would act like.

Today I tried to have a look at those nice parks in an agri station... and got fined for loitering.
Why can't we have nice views?

I like the guy with the accent (Dutch sounding?) who says something like 'Welcome to new arrivals, and God speed to departures'. :)

I've heard a few but it's sometimes hard to understand them because of the echo. Also, if you ever visit Lave Station, you can hear one of the Lave Radio crew make an announcement. I'm ashamed to say I don't know which one it is.

The voice on Lave sounds just like Braben. Really, I've listened several of his interviews and it sounds just like him.

There could be some announcements with his voice, but I'm positive I heard an announcement made by one of the Lave Radio crew.

All the time, the eastern European/Russian sounding bloke in the more seedy independent stations is my favourite.

In the Empire there is a woman with a Chinese or Japanese-esque accent. She sounds very pleasant, though I find it hard to tell what she is saying because of the echo.

I quite like these station announcements but the echo makes it difficult to hear exactly what they are saying. They always seem to start talking as I'm throttling down for the landing pad making it doubly difficult to hear.
The female announcer in the empire stations is just indecipherable to my ears - I remember reading something on some ED website that empire citizens have a strange accent.

Ever seen anywhere safer or more peaceful than a cemetery? The peace they're talking about is as in "Rest In..." :)

Oh yes, she is fantastic.

I wish the ships has voice packs based on the stations, that the ship was bought on. Im bored with the federal voice on EVERY of my shpis (even on the Clipper), i want to hear "frameshifto drivu engaged!" announced by the asian lady!

I can't hear most of them, they are almost all too quiet to discern since the patch that lowered the volume, and often are echoing over each other; I really want to hear the Empire ones, the Indian guy sounds like his lines must be a little threatening.

I think we need the following voices added for stations:
The voice tannoi you get at the dodgems at the fair
Julian Clarey (watch where you stick that viper)
Homer Simpson
Sheldon Cooper (waits til you are about to touch down to tell you it's his spot)
Stewie
Darth Vader
Kermit the frog
Lieutenant Gruber from Allo Allo
Michelle from Allo Allo (listen very carefully, I shall say zis only once)
While I think about it Officer Crabtree from Allo Allo (Moaning.. Lond at pid feev)

Twiki from Buck Rodgers

Oh dear...

Sheldon Cooper (waits til you are about to touch down to tell you it's his spot)

Actually a random event that spawns a pirate gang that spams BAZINGA in your comms as they attack...actually no that is a terrible idea.

Brian Blessed

I think one of the third party voice controllers has a Blessed sound alike, if not the man himself, and having him (or the essence thereof) as an thrust-controlling AI is quite enough.

Inspector Clouseau

Dead, I'm afraid.

Sean Connery

Retired and no apparent interest in rectifying that situation.

The Middle-Eastern sounding guy who tells you that agressive actions will not be tolerated is my favourite. I first heard it in a badass-looking Dictatorship Coriolis starport (with the extension arms) and really darkly moody red lights on it. The local star was a dim red dwarf so the shadows and the lights, then the threatening intonations of the voice actor made an awesome combination.
