CODE vs Cosmic State: Battle Report - The battle for Warinus 7/3/3300

CODE forces in Lave were on routine enforcement patrol.. After enduring several small uncoordinated attacks from local bounty hunters, activity died throughout the system for a period.

Intelligence reports of a Cosmic State fleet at Warinus station were recieved, and the patrol formed up within jump in distance of the station. We assume these nationalist scumbags were there to enforce some sort of blockade against our brothers in Anarchy at Warinus, and scouts reported that pilots under CODE protection had been attacked attempting to depart the station.

CODE forces jumped in from different vectors to assess the situation, and were promptly fired upon by CS Cobra's and other small ships. When it became clear they were being outwardly hostile CODE forces engaged and several pirate nation loyalist brothers joined in the fray. The firefight continued for several tense minutes, each side hitting but not seriously wounding each other. A call came out from a CODE pilot who's shields were down and had multiple enemy fighters converging on him. I saw his closest attacker, a Viper and peeled off in pursuit. After knocking down his shields the enemy ships in the area started converging on me, concentrating fire.

I saw an opportunity and assumed battlefield command of the fleet to coordinate our efforts. Two enemy command ships, a python and an Anaconda were supporting the fleet at the station. These slow targets were their weakness, and their destruction would be a signal of anarchist independance in the Lave cluster.

Ordering the fleet to converge on the station, knowing my friends were well behind with enemy fighters between myself and them I peeled back towards the station with the enemy squadron hot on my tail.

With the enemy fighters focused on me, they failed to notice my 8 closest friends heading for them at high speed from straight ahead. Burning though 4 shield cells and under heavy enemy fire, I guided both groups to a head on collision. My pursuiers broke formation to avoid the sudden heavy incoming fire and in the ensuing seconds of chaos i ordered CODE forces to open fire on the enemy Anaconda under CMDR Kudach's control. Under heavy fire from all angles, CMDR Kudach conducted an emergency jump out. As soon as we lost him we switched focus to his Python support ship, under CMDR Hyperlethal's control.

Mass locked and trapped, the python fell quickly. As his hull cracked, the anaconda came back in a desperate attempt to marshall his forces and salvage the battle. However CODE fleet scounts spotted him quickly. Ordering a full burn to his position and a concentration of fire the Anaconda's shields collapsed under a hail of laser fire. We can only assume the enemy commander chose to detonate his fusion core, rather then die to the sword of his enemy. The kind of noble sacrifice would only come from these nationalist war mongers.

The remenants of state forces scattered with the loss of their command and control ships. CODE forces maintained a CAP patrol of Warinus until the enemy fleet was spotted retreating several light years away.

CODE forces remain committed to supporting the people of Warinus, and their independance.

I salute both of these groups for bringing the word fun, melting it down with lasers and reconstructing it bit by bit, ash by ash.

Please, keep it up, and if either group is able to enlarge their forces, I hope they plan to expand their noble work.

Cheers cheers

I can't wait till the people who want to PVP, get more organized and more of this goes on. THey won't have to worry about combat loggers or solo people etc...they'll be two groups who really want to go at it for in game reasons/fun. Nothing more nothing less.

It'll be interesting to see the type of Fleet or Wing Commanders who emerge, because just because you can only group with 4 people doesn't mean you can't be an overall commander of 4 wings of 4 on team speak. I imagine flying and giving orders will be a task. I also envision that battles with multiple pythons/anacondas (you know the heavy ships) on both sides will see more distance battles as wings seek to stay within the cover of each other. It might at some point or sometimes move to all out dog fighting in and around the big ships, as the maybe one side closes the distance to focus fire and broad side the others 'capital' ship. Then fighters ducking behind those ships for cover....

I wonder where the evolution of these type of engagements will lie and what the maximum player count will be per instance.

Man, sounds like a blast... half makes me want to sign up, though I've pretty much forsworn clans and the like these days.

CODE vs Cosmic State: Battle Report - The battle for Warinus 7/3/3300

History is written by the victors.

I watched this on twitch. Or at least I would have done if their streamer and ace tactician (as he seems to see himself) hadn't gone off by himself to hunt traders. So I only had the teamspeak audio of the fight, which sounded more like a drunken brawl than a military operation.
No video recordings? Amateurs!

Nevertheless the twitch was entertaining. Our hero re-equipped for fighting traders, struggled with power management and wondered why the lights went out when he deployed hardpoints. Finally he launched and ... "Oh bother, I forgot the limpets again so I'll need to go back and re-dock" (that's a rough translation from the original American). He stopped 2 traders, got no cargo from either, then interdicted an Asp which fought back and blew him to pieces in less than a minute. Finally a stream viewer took pity on him, interdicted him, and dropped a load of Performance Enhancers (!) for him to scoop ("reverse piracy" he called it).

These are the people who charge credits for "protection" and their soon to be announced "escort services"!

This is about all that CODE amounts to in Eve also, feel free to squash them. They're amusing, until they start recruiting the lowest common denominator who then take the RP propaganda to be some sort of new religion and express it with the same arrogance you'd get from any other cult member.
|
If interacting with them wasn't so annoying, I'd say keep them around, but they are, as an affiliation (not saying there aren't a few decent folk among them) the definition of a boorish twit.

Interesting that our other twitch streamer wasn't mentioned who hadn't had half a bottle of whiskey. I saw recordings of him and he was amazing as was Traven and his group of elite pirates. There is nothing in the code that says all members must do this and do that. If one or two want to go off , have a few drinks and a good laugh, fine by us.
If you want to be part of a group of boring murderers with a strict regime then look elsewhere That is not what we are about.

As for the original battle report , Excellent work Traven and his wing, I can see promotions coming your way, Or a bottle of whiskey if you prefer?

We aren't the Code from EVE, but let's not start that again.

Proud of my boys. Well done!

we recently decided not to stream larger operations because of stream sniping.

since you seem to be a great tactitian and ED combat leader, can you please post some recordings of yourself leading a 10v10 fight in ED, including some of the big ships ? recordings at the current state of the game (before wings) without any ingame tools for group coordination would be most helpful. i think we all can learn from you.

oh btw, no planned encounters, since we also just got the call and started heading to station 1 minute before the actual fight started. but i am sure great minds like yourself need no preparation as well.

while you are at it, post some videos of your piracy skills too. i would like to see some of your pirating, or player bountyhunting, if that is your thing.

in case you can not provide any of the above, do at least show up at the lave cluster for some good ol ingame brawling. because im totally sure you are a man of deeds and not just a bad mouth.

So, you charge money for safe access in lave and surrounding systems and kill anyone who doesnt pay up. Sounds strangely familiar, almost like piracy... oh wait. I may have to saunter over and bring some "justice" to the area at some point.

Salute Commanders,

As you are NOT the CODE from EVE, I fear you picked the wrong name, depending on what you hope to get out of it of course... 10 Year EVE player here, and CODE to me is the same as alt GOONS. That is negative perception btw... so I don't understand why you would pick a name that is PROBABLY hated here as much as it is in EVE. No respect at all for the CODE of EVE. So being percieved by others as associated with them may be a detriment. Luckily, this game will not allow the same (cough) maneuvers that code does in EVE, and I believe even a rallying force could stop what happened there. If it is publicity you are lookng for, why not earn your own?
I myself hope to drive the bleed over scum known as CODE from this game.

We were actually based on the Codex Pirata, and didn't know about any organization called the Code in EVE. Believe it or not, I wish we could change the name, but a)I don't want to and b)even if we did people will say we used to be those guys from EVE, so no movement.

I can only say we actually target griefers. We don't want traders going to solo so we rob and never kill without good reason. Like proper pirates.

Salute Sir!

Well said. If what you write is true, then I wish you best of everything. May your life be long and full of gaming.

Hahahahaha! Comedy gold. You can't make this stuff up! More please.

But seriously, this is all great. We need more in-game player-driven content like this. Really wish FD would allow guilds and other official mechanisms for this stuff.
