Pirate Love, their own Area and Cap Ship?

Snakebites post of yesterday really got the juices flowing. I wont go in to the details of his post here, but rather suggest some ideas that I thought of as I was using my imagination last night. WOuld be cool to see some other ideas......positive ideas.........

I think Pirates should have their own areas, like Alliance, Federation, Empire………..a few places, dotted around the map, where they can sell illegal goods, where there are No cops, where they can run riot, plan raids in to Civilised Space, and defend an area should they upset a few too many people……

And how about this, a fully kitted out Pirate Capital Ship…….Skull and Cross Bones, Broadside Cannons ………..How epic would it be for the "Black Pearl" to come in to contact with a Fed Cap Ship, and all kinds of hell break loose……….Pirates and Hired Fed Guns, Navy Pilots........ at each others throats, traders diving in to collect cargo from the wrecks..............

How can we turn Piracy in this game, in to a Win for all?...........
 
Agreed - but pirates don't fear the cops. Because, well let's face it, the cops are absolutely rubbish.
I know this is supposed to be a sim (like reality), but puh-lease... :D

If they could manage to tighten up what are supposed to be secure systems with better policing, then having designated pirate systems (or Anarchy systems, since I assume that was the point of these) would be a great addition.

As it stands now, pretty much every system is currently designated a pirate system, because apparently FD loves pirates and think they should be ruling the galaxy without fear of reprisal or any kind of deterrent.
 
Isn't this what "anarchy" systems and stations were meant for?

The problem is, at the moment, all systems are Anarchy systems..........I mean, Billy the Kid, even in the Wild West......could'nt walk in to the Local Sherrif station and pay off his Murder Bill..................but thats how "Civilised" space is at the moment................Pirates can roam free, anywhere............just pay off the fine, then camp the station.........shoot to kill, pay off the fine, camp the station..etc etc.........
 
Yes, I agree the implementation is very poor, and that there isn't any tangible difference between civilized and anarchy systems in terms of PvP. But opening post asked for own pirate areas and, well, anarchy systems fit the bill. They just need a little (kidding... a LOT) fleshing out.
 
Since the alliance doesnt even have a flushed out navy system or a capital ship I'd say your chances of this happening anytime even remotely soon are zero.
 
Well, i'd honestly prefer to see Alliance ships and capship first.

I was more thinking along the lines of getting the whole Piracy thing sorted out as it is really wrecking the game and forums in its current form.............I don't see 100 posts a day about the alliance capship........but I do see rage quits, combat logs, solo vs open going on and on and on......
 
The only way Pirates are ever going to get a capitol ship is to STEAL it. But that would mean they would have to unify and have pirates come from LY around and thrown digitally warm bodies against the endless hordes of the Navy. Then they would have to not only WIN the battle, but board and take over a crew that is bred for military life.

I can see this being an interesting community event, but I do not see it actually succeeding. A rag tag pirate fleet wouldn't stand the chance of a snowball surviving in hell for a few seconds, let along the time it would take for a full blown navy battle...

It would be a nice BH event as well for collecting bounties...
