I tested that one. Nagging Nora tells you when there are 20 seconds to self destruct, etc.

Mind you, the way they set up the beta, I had no option but to self-destruct. I was 23K LY out of Sol, getting close to the core, at the point they took the copy. The only way to do any testing of new stuff was to self-destruct to magic me back to civilisation.

No fix for the ridiculous situation of being given a kill mission by a minor faction to kill other minor faction ships and lose rep with both minor faction and major faction. :(

Still trying to understand why I keep playing, I guess it's blind hope it will all come good by 2020.

Ahhhh... My Mistook... tl/Dr the full text where they did say it would take around 2 hours apparently.

I would have thought in the wonderful world of VMWare it would be a switchover to pre-prepared images. but hey-ho.

Patience is a virtue....and I (apparently) have none. :)

Same with me. I keep trying the game. Of course I didn't see the message say two hours. :)

OK, here's what you do (and then you'll never need to do it again AFAIK).

Open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) and type %appdata% into the address bar. That'll take you to something like C:\...\AppData\Roaming.
Go up a level and then down into Appdata\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings.
Copy "Custom.binds" to something like "YourName.binds".

When you next run Elite go to Controls and in the list where you'd pick from preset bindings such as "Mouse and Keyboard" you should now see "YourName". Pick that and you'll never have to do this again.
