been as high as 4.1 mb's to low of 0.01 mb's I'm riding the roller coaster

I use virgin for my internet and the v1.2 download stays at around 0.50 MB/s even though my i'm capable of 50MB download speeds!
Would this be due to virgin throttling my internet or is it because everyone is trying to download this at the moment?

They're distributed through the Amazon cloud. I'd suggest that bandwidth isn't the problem here.

Same here, but no way estimation is correct, it overshoots it a lot. Went away from computer for 15min leaving it download, came back and it was already 1/5 done, and it still claims 4h remaining.

Where is everyone getting the new launcher from? I keep getting the "Launcher Requires Update" prompt and I click YES and it just closes with nothing ever happening. Can anyone help me out with this?

You might find your "downloads" folder is now filled with launcher exes. That's what happened to me, at any rate!
