Release 1.2. is great!

Just spent an hour hunting in my favourite RES, and OMG they upped the excitement level dramatically. I'd tried it in a hopped up Vulture in Beta and it was fun, but in my Cobra it's doubly so - Vulture makes it all a bit too easy. The variety of ships the bogeys are flying now is great, as is the increased level of threat - had to run like a little girl once when five Sideys in two wings jumped me at the same time. Spun round after my shields recovered and got 'em tho :) The Feds kept them occupied while I was gone.

Game is definitely running smoother too, at least in the Rift. Noticed it in Beta and it's carried over to Live.

Little bit disappointed at the price of the Vulture, but I can wait. Certainly not about to chuck my toys out of the pram over it. Could care less about the FDL, if I'm going to buy a jump challenged ship I'll have a Vulture thanks ;)

I don't get it either...

People just love cosmetic stuff/looking at shiny things. Hence why TF2/Dota/CSGO are making tons of money with skins and the only reason I want ED on Steam, so we can buy skins using the market place with money we earn from selling stuff from other games.

Anyway, Im here to post that I LOVE THIS UPDATE <3<3<3

Camera is more for the screenshots, but i REALLY love the route planner now, it even tells me how many jumps to my destination :D

Super excited, too!

Does the bar move? Will the little number freeze??
Tune in next time, to the 17th episode of
Re-Start The Launcher!

Refuelings a lot easier when exploring, still fast too no dodging round the star, might be differnt though where you have to worry about npcs

1.2 is more broken then the beta.

This update is sad. Check out the supercruise bug posted on Reddit, for example.

Even though nobody seems to be interested in anything but the new ships' prices, I think "Wings" is great!

  • the group mechanic works like a charm
  • much improved AI, finally posing a challenge
  • ability to repair broken modules via system reboot (in addition to being useful it looks really cool!)
  • much reduced hull repair costs
  • reduced fines for smuggling
  • distance between stations and star in system map
  • remaining jumps of route displayed in navigation menu

And that's just the tip of the iceberg!

So, keep complaining about the ship prices, everyone, and continue to overlook the important game play improvements that have been made, I am off enjoying Wings :p

I would have been on board had you not pointed to people complaining. If you are going to make a positive post, go for it, but don't take it as an opportunity to snipe at people not enjoying the update. Glad that it's working out otherwise.

No good deed goes unpunished. 1.2 is a great update. It may take a few days to sort everything out but, that's to be expected.

If there are known bugs in the beta, they should NEVER reach production. There is no slack for that.

Who said they were known in Beta? Maybe they're new bugs or newly popping up of previously thought fixed bugs? With the huge influx of new players to 1.2 it's to be expected.

I suppose FD could have went with a 1 month beta, since I'm in the beta that would be ok for me but, I doubt you'll gain many followers with that idea.
