So I'm in the process of downloading the new update and was looking at the patch notes and saw Frontier added two new ships the Vulture and the Fer-De-Lance (here on out refered to as the FDL)
So i thought I'd check out these ships on the Elite Dangerous wiki and was flabbergasted to see the prices of them. The FDL coming in at 102.5million Credits and the Vulture at as near as makes no difference 22million Credits.
This has confused and annoyed me as Elite wasn't hurting for pricey ships, with your lakons, Anacondas and Pythons. So I didn't think it needed two more multi-million credit ships added to the list.
What Elite needs are more intermediate ships for purchase. Something to go between the Cobra at 370,000 credits, and the ASP at 6.6million credits.
Now i know what you're gonna say, "Just buy a Lakon type 6, its only 1million credits." And yess that's true, but you can't use a Lakon for bounty hunting, or priracy because it lacks offensive capabilities. So unless you team up with some mates, you can only do hauling solo, even mining is risky because a wanted sidewinder is more manuverable than the lakon.
So what we need is a multipurpose ship that comes in between the Cobra and the ASP. The Vulture is a bit of a bridge for going from a ASP to a Python, and the FDL between the Python and Anaconda. But from what I'm hearing FDL isn't as good as a properly kitted out Python.
So please Frontier, stop adding ships with massive price tags. The game is already grindy enough without having to spend days, or weeks saving up for your next ship purchase.
There needs to be a more gradual incline like between the starting ships. where there wasn't much of a gulf between a Viper and a Cobra.
Sorry for this being a bit of a rant but it's just bugging me so much.
Tell me your thoughts on Frontiers two new additions. and what you think needs to be put in next
